It was finally the big day.
One month had passed by quicker than anyone would have thought. It seemed like just yesterday I was in rehearsals with the guys, helping them practice and getting to know them.
There was no need for that anymore just because I felt like I knew them more than I knew myself. In a matter of a month, I’ve come to appreciate these guys and consider them my family.
Everyone was excited and proud today. The day I, the boys and the whole wide world had been waiting for. After all the hard work, studio time, sleepless nights and rehearsals, their moments was finally there
The backstage was chaotic as everyone ran around, making adjustments and preparing everything for the show that was about to take place here in Boston, our first city.
“Can someone please alert Anne? Harry popped one of his buttons.” The woman that had escorted Harry into the dressing room, sighed and went back about her business.
I crossed my arms over my chest at Harry’s smug on his face. “You shouldn’t be proud of popping your button five minutes before you have to go on stage.” I shook my head and grabbed his hand pulling him closer to me.
I held his shoulders to straighten him and examined his button-up shirt. It wasn’t as bad as that woman had made it sound like, to the point where I could fix it myself.
“Where is Anne?” I murmured, my eyes scanning the room for sewing thread.
“Last time I saw her, she was fixing Zayn’s suit.” He answered.
I twisted my lips and thought of the options, while still in search of that damn sewing thread. “Stay here,” I ordered.
I walked to the back of the room and opened on the cabinet, rummaging through everything in hope to find what I was looking for. After a few seconds, I found a white transparent box that held a few sewing threads. Pulling it out of the cabinet and settling it on the counter, I picked out Harry’s shirt color and made my way back to him.
“You’re patient.” I smiled.
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be right now.” He flirted.
I giggled and shook my head, used to that kind of behavior from him. I tugged on his blazer so he could take it off and proceed with getting the tread into the needle.
“Excited about performing soon?” I asked, glancing up at him as I failed to slide the tread into the little hole.
“Excited? More like nervous.” He breathed in.
“Why you’ve performed before. On shows and whatnot.” I reminded him.
“I know but it’s different this time. It’s our show, we’re what they’re gonna have to look at and listen to for the next hour and a few.” He unbuttoned his shirt so I could manage the needle through his shirt better.
“I’ve heard you during rehearsals, you have nothing to worry about.” I winked at him before bending down a little to his button’s level. “And I see you all the time, it’s nothing to complain about.”
That part was uncalled for. It kind of just slipped out of my mouth? Ugh, who was I kidding? I thought Harry was adorable and every minute spent with him was well spent. Now all the extra feelings that came with it, I’d rather didn’t.
Last time I checked, I had a made a promise to someone else that I’d be waiting for them and that my feelings for them would remain intact.
“Did you just flirt with me? I can’t believe this, Hayden just flirted with me.” He announced. I tried hiding my smile as best as possible but it slightly became harder when Harry grabbed my chin and lifted my head so I could look up at him. “You should do that more often.” He grinned.
I slapped his hand away and quickly finished off with sewing the new button he had given me a few minutes earlier to his shirt. I patted his chest and announced that I was done.
“There. Good as new.” I set the materials on the counter before taking a look at my watch. “You should get going.”
“Can I get a good luck kiss?”
I frowned and looked up at him, wondering if I had heard right. “Pardon me?”
“Can I get a kiss for good luck?” He showcased his pearly white teeth.
I got on my tiptoes and went to give him a quick peck but as soon as my lips touched his, they didn’t want to part. I pressed my lips harder against his, wanting to feel every bit of him and moaned unintentionally when his tongue slid inside my mouth, in search of mine.
His arms circled my waist and mine, his neck as our bodies collided onto each other. After what felt like an eternity, we pulled away and stared at each other, our breathing labored. I rested my hands on his chest and looked up at him, surprised at what had just taken place.
“You should go.” I breathed out.
“Yeah.” He nodded and turned around but before he could take a step, I pulled on his arm and crashed my lips against his the minute he faced me. I cupped his face and deepened the kiss, pressing my body against his one more time before releasing him.
“Ok, now you can go.” I smirked.
He looked winded as he nodded and made his way out of the dressing room, a smile on his face.
