Music pulsed through the club, allowing me to dance away my worries. My hips swayed back and forth, my hands in the air. I was living the good life of freedom, going where ever I wanted when I wanted. When the club began to close I left and began to make my walk back to the hotel I was staying in. I had just turned the corner when I ran into a hard chest. Due to the force and being in extremely tall heels, I nearly fell backwards until strong arms caught me. Pleasurable jolts hit me when they touched me. At the feeling my eyes snapped to the one who caught me. Dark brown eyes with flecks of gold in them stared at me in shock.

The man who caught me was no man at all. His scent told me he was a Bestia Dragon Subcinctus. His human form was a man of native american descent. Only one tribe was made up of dragons, and that's the Solaris tribe. They owned a Temple not too far from here that second as a bar as a disguise to earn some revenue. All the Temples acted as a bar or club. It was the only place you could go to get some alcohol that would affect our kind.

He let me go as we stared at each other. "You're a wolf," he said as he let his eyes run over me, taking in his fill. I couldn't be mad, I was doing the same. He had long black hair that was braided down his back, a strong jawline, large muscles, a black tribal tattoo that went around his left bicep, and both ears had a piercing in his ear lobes. The piercings symbolize he was a warrior in his family. He would throw his life on the line for his family. "You're a dragon," I said with a hand on my hip.

Fate was fate though, no matter how we wanted to look at it. He sighed and stuck his hand out, "My name is Jacy Solaris." I took it, "I'm Willow Lester." "Do you have a pack around here," he asked me. I shook my head, "I'm a lone wolf traveling about, going wherever the wind takes me." He nodded, "So I take it you're staying in a hotel near here." "Right you are," I told him. "Why not stay at the Temple," he asked her. "Because this area is Bestia dominant. I'm not in the mood to deal with the feud, I just want to have fun. I have nothing against the Bestia's but I know that just because I'm a Vir, others will have problems with me," I explained to him. The city was surrounded in dense forest that Bestia's love to reside in. The feud was rather annoying, but I know everyone has their own reasons for adding to it. I will never take a side. I am proud of who I am, but I don't find the Bestia's below me just because they live differently.

"My mother is entirely against the feud and has forbade any traces of it on our lands," he told me. "If you stay at the Temple we will be able to properly have our two month courtship." He had a valid point I thought. Nothing bad can happen on Temple lands. It was a place of sanctuary for all who knew of the super natural world. Mostly Subcinctus call it home, but I've seen others like demons, vampires, humans who knew of us, and other types of supernatural.

I sighed, "You have a point. Tonight we tell our parents, and then tomorrow I will go to the Temple." He nodded, "You know where it is right?" I nodded, "I do." He nodded again, "I will see you tomorrow."

When I got to my hotel room I sighed and sat on the hotel bed, phone in hand. I dialed my mother's number and waited for her to answer. "You boys better stop fighting or I'm going to give you both a good thrashing," I heard my mother growl at my brothers when she answered the phone. "Hi honey," my mom said completely cheerful. "Hey mom," I said. "So what  have you called me for this time," my mother asked me. "You usually call me if you're in trouble."

"I met my mate maybe about thirty or so minutes ago," I told her, biting my lip. She was incredibly silent and I didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. "Mom?"

"What is he," she asked me. "A Bestia Dragon Subcinctus," I answered. "But the only dragons in that area is the Solaris tribe," she said. "Exactly," I told her. "Jacy is my mate." "So what are you going to do," she asked me. "I'm going to stay at the Temple his family runs during our two month courtship," I told her. "So he isn't going to reject you for being a Vir," she asked a little shocked. "As far as I can tell, no," I told her. I could hear her release a sigh of relief.

"You remember Temple rules right," she asked me. "No fighting or killing, never go against a request of the owner, and earn my keep," I answered. "Good girl," she said. "I know I don't have to tell you this, but I won't be able to sleep if I don't. Please be careful." "I will mom, I promise," I told her with a sigh before hanging up. This was going to be interesting.

Jacy's POV

I sat before my parents in their office at the Temple. "What do you mean you met your mate," my mother asked, looking a little shocked. She was shocked because out of all of her children, I was the youngest. My siblings and I ranged in various ages, the oldest of their thirteen children, was nearing four hundred years old and I was nearing a hundred and fifty years old. Out of all thirteen, I am the first to meet their mate. My oldest sister, Maria, married a good Bestia Dragon and currently has two children with him.

"Exactly that," I said while nodding. "What is she," my father asked me. "A Vir Wolf," I answered. Their eyes widened. "A wolf," my mother asked me. My parents didn't care whether she was Bestia or Vir, but that she wasn't a dragon. Our clan is one of the few who have managed to stay entirely pure for many centuries. I knew neither would approve, but I wasn't one to piss off fate. I nodded, "She agreed to the courtship." "She doesn't care about the feud," my father asked me. I shook my head, "As far as I can tell she doesn't have a side picked." "Where did you meet her," my mother asked me next. I knew she wasn't going to like my next answer, wanting her children to have spouses who didn't spell trouble like my mate does.

"Leaving that club on Alsa and Fifteenth," I answered. "Lustrious, or whatever I think it's called." My mother looked like she was going to faint, "The Fates mated you to a tramp! What did you do to receive this punishment?" I rolled my eyes as I shook my head, "She didn't smell like she had been there having sex." I knew the smell of sex, my brothers having it quite often in their caves with whatever female Bestia Dragons that came to enjoy a good drink. I stayed pure, not really interested in sex. My brothers actually fear I'm broken for turning down plenty of women who have been interested in me.

"What do you think son," my father asked me. I shrugged, "I don't know anything about her to really think anything about her. I will base my opinion, once I know her." "Do you know when she will be arriving," he asked me. I shook my head, "Just sometime tomorrow." "She probably wants to get in one last round with whoever she met at the club," my mother scoffed. "Des," my father warned with a soft growl.

"If she's with someone, I can't really judge her for that," I told her. "After all, Maria is married with children and could meet her mate any day. Same with her husband Lucas." It was common for our kind to marry, not wanting to put life on hold to search for our mates. If we find them, that's great, but we shouldn't life pass us by. My father nodded, "He has a point dear. Now then son, we'll let you get her room ready." I nodded and stood from the chair I was sitting in.

I opened the office door, and saw all of my siblings lining the hall. Just great, I thought. I cut them all a look, not wanting to deal with any of their comments. I know my mother was going to be a problem, and I didn't need them adding to it. I know many of them follow her belief the clan should stay pure, but I didn't really care. Fate is fate. It was suicide to go against it. So I will welcome my mate into my home, not caring about our differences, and get to know her. I just pray this doesn't bite me in the ass.
