Chapter 7

*Lucy's POV*
I was running as fast as I could back home after stopping by the store of course if not it would be worse. I arrived home and just when I'm about to open the door I hear Michelle's screams. I burst open from the door to find broken glass all over the place along with blood. I look over to then see an unconscious Michelle laying on the floor.

"What did you do to her" I scream at my dad. He shrugged his shoulders and walk away, but I went after it, he can do whatever he wants to me, but I told him once if he hurts Michelle I will hurt him. I ended up with a broken arm after that, but i would do anything for her, my mom told me to protect her and that's what I'm gonna do.

"Don't walk away!" I yelled at him. He then just showed me away with his hand. I grabbed a beer bottle from the bag and threw it at his feet, now I have his attention. "Mom told you to be strong, but all your doing right now is hurting her! Hurting us! What the fuck have we done to deserve this! She died get over it already! She would want us to." I said with tears in my eyes. Black was all I saw one second later.

I woke up to find myself in my house's hospital room. 'What happened' I thought. Then the pain came rushing in my head, my arm, my legs, my whole body was in pain.

"Tch, I should teach that old man a lesson." I heard a voice say. I looked around to find............ "Sting".  "Hey there baby sis" he said walking towards me. "How long was I out?" I ask sitting up. "5 days" "5 DAYS! I was out for 5 days! Wait.....where's Michelle!" I scream at the top of my lungs. I can't believe I was out for five days.

"She's alright, she's been staying with me for past few days. I would've taken you to my house too, but the old man said it's either you or Michelle." He said with a death glare towards the door. He's always hated my dad even when my mom was still around. He said it's all an act and that all step-dads are evil, I never believed him and when I did it was to late.

"She wanted to come and visit you, but I wouldn't let her with him around." "I can always count on you to watch her when I'm not around." I said with a smile. As I was getting out of bed my feet started to hurt, I noticed I had cuts and bruises on my legs, I looked at my arms and it was the same.

"You know your friends have been stopping by asking about you" "they have" I asked. I totally forgot about my friends, what excuse am I going to make this time. "They came by with a boy a few times, he had pink hair, but he claims it's salmon. I asked who he was and he said he was your boyfriend, care to explain Lucy." Sting said giving me an overprotective brother look, which he is. I gulped and then told him everything even the bet and he laughed.

"It's not funny" I said crossing my arms and pouting. "He beat you in a test and he had the lowest grade of all!" He said pointing at me and laughing. "Your mean" I said sticking my rouge and him, he did it back to me.

"You know you should really come live with me and my day. You and Michelle would be much better there than here." He said changing the topic. "If only it was that simple." I said with my head down. We stayed quiet for a moment or two, until my brothers phone rang. He picked it up to check the caller I.d. Yuki he mouthed at me and I shooed him away, I'm happy he found someone and always will be.

I got off the bed only to fall on the floor. I used the bed to get up and then walked over to the bathroom using the walls to hold me. I open the door to find my reflection against the mirror. I had a black eye, a cut on my lip, a patch on my forehead, and a cut on my cheek.

I tried to touch it, but then just noticed I had a broken wrist. 'Why did I confront him' I thought as tears fell down my face. All these questions started to pop in my head and they all hurt. I climbed back into the bed and cried myself to sleep that night. Like I do every night.

*Natsu's POV*
It's been five days since I haven't heard from Lucy. I remember when she left Macao's, I followed her but, then lost her. I called at least 100 times these past few days. I even visited her house with her friends.

A guy with blonde hair like her's answered the door, he said he was her brother. We asked for her, but he just shrugged his shoulders and asked us to leave. I would've put up a fight if Ezra wasn't there.

Yup that's right I meet Ezra and she is scary. I hope when Lucy comes back she doesn't tell her what I said or else I'm dead.

All of a sudden my phone started to ring, I picked it up hoping it was Lucy. "Hello" "Hey this is Lucy's brother Sting." It was her brother. Might as well as him some questions. "Hey...um... is Lucy with you?" I asked. "Not yet" he said. I frowned at his response. "Is Lucy gone because she was cutting or something?" "SHE'S BEEN CUTTING AGAIN!" Her brother yelled on the other line almost blew my ear drums out.

"Yea, she does it at school too" I said, I then heard a sigh in the other line. "So you guys go to the same school huh. Can you promise me something Natsu?" I raised an eyebrow. "Depends on the promise." "Take care of her, don't let her out of your sight, don't let her cut anymore. Be there for her even if she pushes you away. Be her best friend." I was shocked at the words he said. I remember when I first told him I was her boyfriend and the death stare he gave me. I took a deep breath, I haven't known you for long, but I knew you were something special Heartfilia.

"I promise"
