Sophia wasn't exactly interested in watching the Lacrosse team practice as much as she was interested in watching the lacrosse players. She sat with her friend Lydia.
"You know, Scott may be kind of a dork, but damn, dat ass." Sophia said, gaining a look from Lydia and the two started laughing.
It was then that Sophia noticed a new player on the field. "Hey Lyd, who's the new kid?" She asked, pointing to a rather small looking player standing on the far side of the field.
Lydia was quiet, then she smiled. "That would be Jason, new kid from up north." She said.
Sophia nodded, she barely saw the guys lips form two words and followed his line of sight. Standing just to the left of the bleachers was none other than the infamous Derek Hale.
Sophia looked back and forth between the two. She knew Derek, after all they were part of the same pack, but what was he doing here?
"Psssst! Derek!" Sophia whispered. The sourwolf turned and looked at her with an angry expression on his face, nothing new there.
"What?" Derek growled back.
"What are you doing here?" Sophia asked.
"Scott asked me to see what I thought of his Jason kid." He answered.
Sophia's eyebrows knit together in confusion. "What do you mean?" She asked.
Derek sighed. "The kid is a werewolf." He said.
Sophia's eyes went back across the field and looked at the shaggy head of hair that belonged to Jason just as Scott walked up to the other boy. Sophia focused her hearing to listen to their conversation.
"You ready to start?" Scott was asking.
"Y-yeah." Jason answered and Sophia could hear the uncertainty in his voice.
"Alright." Sophia could practically hear Scott smile. "Just take it easy and don't get too worked up." He said and Sophia felt the double meaning hidden in those words.
"Okay, t-thanks Scott." Jason replied. The smaller boy put on his helmet and jogged onto the field.
Sophia watched as Jason stood in line. She was so concentrated that she didn't notice that Derek had sat down next to her until he said, "That kid somehow knew my name."
Sophia had to contain a scream as she stared at Derek with wide eyes. "Jesus dude, don't sneak up on people like that." She said, punching him in the arm.
Sophia looked back at the field just in time to see Jason roll off one of the players backs to make a shot and score. "Things just got very interesting."
