Jason was already beginning to regret his decision to come to the locker room to try out for the Lacrosse team. He stood near the door just watching the other guys in the room. All of them looked physically intimidating with well developed bodies and an air of confidence surrounding them. Jason took a shaky breath, he didn't really belong here.
While Jason was in good shape, he was more thin than any kind of muscular and gave off the opposite of confidence. He was so shy that he doubted any of the team thought he could do anything, and he was starting to doubt himself already as well.
Jason knew he had abilities. After all, he was a werewolf now. He had superior strength, stamina, and speed along with other things as well. Jason took a deep breath as he glanced around the room again. Some of the lacrosse players were giving him curious glances and Jason was surprised to find that none of them were by any means angry or suspicious, just curious. He was so lost in thought that he jumped when he felt someone touch him.
Jason looked over to find a younger boy standing next to him. The kid had spikey brown hair and pretty blue eyes. "Hey man, you okay?" the younger male asked, a concerned look in his eyes.
"Oh, y-yeah, you just s-starttled me i-is all." Jason stuttered out, hoping the other would take it as him being taken by surprise.
"Okay. Well I'm Liam." he said, extending a hand.
Jason took it and smiled, "Jason, b-but you can c-call me Jay." he said.
Liam nodded and smiled, "I'm guessing you just moved here and Scott and Stiles are trying to get coach to let you try out huh?" he asked.
Jason simply nodded, surprised at how quickly this kid figured out what was going on.
"Well, you shouldn't have to worry. We need all the players we can get this year." Liam said. "Besides, Scott never goes back on his promises." he added with a smile.
Just then, Coach Finstock followed by Scott and Stiles exited his office and headed straight for Jason.
Jason couldn't help but shrink back slightly as the man neared him. "So, you wanna try out for Lacrosse huh?" Finstock asked, his gaze unwavering.
Jason nodded mutely, unsure of what to do. He glanced behind the man at Scott and Stiles who were bothing smiling like idiots, which somehow made Jason feel less scared at the imposing man in front of him.
Finstock quirked a brow, "You ever play before?" he asked and Jason nodded quickly. A insane grin passed over Finstock's face. "Good! You're on the team then!" he said, walking out of the locker room.
Jason just stood there completely confused for a long moment. "I'm on the t-team?" he asked Scott and Stiles who were both smiling.
"Yep, anyone to keep Greenberg off the field." Stiles said with a crooked smile to which Scott nodded.
"Come on Jay, let's get you some gear." Scott said and lead the other teen to the equipment closet.
They found fitting gear and Jason changed. Scott looked at him and smiled. "Alright, let's head out." he said, leading Jason and Stiles out to the field.
Once they were there, Jason felt himself freeze in fear when he looked across the field to see a tall, dark, and brooding figure staring at him. "Derek Hale." he whispered.
