CHAPTER SIX

*Devon's POV*

It's lunch time. Damn, I'm starving.

I waved at Rian and Emma as I saw them finding for us. So she saw me and headed towards us.

Emma sat beside Logan and they talked.

"What's up?" I asked Rian.

"Everything's cool." She said.

I nodded. And as I looked through the crowd, I saw my childhood cousin.

Eric O'Connor.

He still looked the same as before. Except he got taller, and his hair got longer.

I waved at him so he could see me.

"Rogue! Over here!" I shouted.

His expression was shocked as he saw me. I was so excited to talk to him as he walked through the crowd.

He finally sat down on our table. And I saw Rian's expression on her face.

Big eyes.

Her jaw dropped.

What's wrong with her? Is Eric really that attractive?

I patted him on the shoulder and started introducing  him to Rian.

"Rian, have you met met Rogue?"

"Um..." she was speechless. I think she does like Eric.

"He's my cousin by the way." I added. Giving emphasis on the word 'cousin'.

*Rian's POV*

I can't believe Eric O'Connor is Devon's cousin.

"Yeah. I met her already. She's my lab partner." Eric said. His eyes were glued on me again. I started getting uncomfortable sitting with him. I'm having this feeling that I just want to disappear.

"Really? That's cool." Devon said and took a gulp of his coke.

Silence soon came to our table. And Eric was still staring at me. Can a fairy just take me with her, please? Ugh.

"You okay Rian?" Finally, Emma broke the silence! Hallelujah!

"Yeah. I'm just surprised that Eric is Devon's cousin. He never mentioned it to me a while ago." Which was the truth!

"Oh.." she paused. "And uh, what was the thing you are going to tell me?" She asked.

"What thing?" I started to get confused. Crap.

"The thing you texted me?" Emma said. And I soon remembered.

Damn.

How am I supposed to tell her if Devon and Eric are here?

"Oh yeah, that? It was about um.. this." I paused.

"Eric?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

I looked at Eric and saw him smirk. Then I looked back at Emma.

"We have to go to the library. Mr. Pike gave me a task and have a research at the library." I said nervously. I then pulled Emma's arms. "We have to go. She has to help me with something. Sorry guys! See you later!" I said. Then started rushing to the library with Emma.

Emma finally stopped in the middle of the field and she was looking at the ground, smiling.

"What now? You have to help me with something!" I said.

"No." She replied, still looking at the ground.

"What? Why?" I said. Starting to get annoyed. Good thing we were the only one's who were in the field.

"You like him." Emma said, doing an evil smirk.

"Who?"

"Eric."

I was speechless. Again. No, I do not like Eric. It's just, he acts so weird around me. He stares at me like I am his dinner or something.

"No I do not. And this is the thing I wanted to talk about." I explained.

"Okay. Tell me." She crossed her arms and tilted her head on the side.

"Mr. Pike set Eric as my lab partner. As soon as we finished our activity we had a little talk." I paused and made a loud sigh. "The thing I wanted to tell you is.. he is a hot guy who likes The Strokes and even met them once! And he also said that he likes my hoodie."

Then it went silent for seconds.

"What now?" I asked.

"It's destiny." She said in a serious tone.

"What do you mean?"

"You both like The Strokes. He made a compliment about your hoodie. Poof! Meant to be as I say."

"So?" I said, raising both of my arms.

"I think he likes you." She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"How'd you say?"

"I saw the way he looks at you a while ago in the cafeteria." She said which made me flush my cheeks into deep red.

"You saw that?"

"Duh! Everybody was.. except for Devon." Emma said. And the bell rang. "Come on, let's go back to class." She offered me, taking my hand.

I can't believe my best friend really see's everything in me. I can't believe this day. I love this day. Waking up with my dad's presence, and this. I so love my life right now. Thank God.
