"California"? He's moving to California. California. How are we going to see each other? "Yeah, me Emily, mom and dad". I couldn't stand the thought of him moving across the country. And Emily is leaving too? How am I going to do this with out them. I need them. I couldn't take it I ran home and shut the door behind me. I ran up the stairs into my room and locked the door I sat on my bed and buried my head in the pillow. I cried for about twenty minutes before someone knocked on my door. I herd the door knob jiggle and the door opened. "I'm guessing he told you huh" my dad said as he popped on the bed next to me. He smiled. Why was he smiling. The boy I love and my best friend, are moving across the country. And here's my dad smiling. "Why are you smiling? You don't think this is funny do you?". I got a attitude with my dad. Then Lucas stood there in the doorway with a smile also. "You don't think we're going to move you across the county away from your best-friend? do you?" My smile got very big and my heart was racing. "We're moving to California?!" I said standing up jumping up and down. I don't think I've ever been more exited. "Only if you and Lucas want to". I looked at Lucas and let a tear roll down my cheek. "Me? Duh! I mean I would love too!" Lucas said opening his arms and giving me a hug. "So it's a yes? I asked giving my dad a smile. "As soon as the school year is over!" I have never been more happy. I was exited about moving to were dylan and Emily were. but I was going to be in California. I didn't know if we would be moving to the beach part or maybe further away from the city. But I didn't care. I was moving to California.
** three months later**
"Come on Cassie, just because your a girl doesn't mean you can sit around while we load all these boxes" Lucas said while he wiped the sweat off his face. I was face timing Laurie considering that I wouldn't see her until I leave tomorrow. We are flying on an airplane from Atlanta, GA to las Angeles, CA. Yep, we're moving to the sunny las Angeles California. We're going to live in a beach house right beside Emily and Dylan. My dad took Lucas and I up to the new house a couple of weeks ago, when school ended. Dylan, Emily, and there family left a couple of days ago to the new house. The first couple days were in Cali I will spen the night with Emily, while Lucas and my dad get the house set up. "Bye Laurie, I have to help my lame brother pack" I said waving goodbye to her. "Bye see you at the airport"! I wish she could come, but when she asked her parents they said no. After I helped Lucas pack the last of my stuff and walked up stairs to my empty house. I looked around and started to get a little teary eyed. I remember when my mom was still alive and she helped me unpack. I stood there looking up the stairs and remembered the time me Emily and Dylan ran up the stairs with out little water guns shooting water at each other laughing. I remember sitting on the stairs while I waited for my mom to come home from the hospital and she never did. There is so many good memories that I will miss from this house. But it's going to be nice to start over. "Hey Cassie" my dad said walking in the door and putting his arms around his shoulder. "It's time to go to the hotel sweetie". I looked around one last time and said goodbye. "Let's go" I said letting out a tear. Goodbye house. Thanks for everything. I walked out the door and took a step back. I will miss this place. My dad drove out of the drive way as I looked back out the house and turned around in my seat. The next morning Lucas woke me up and took me to car. We left the hotel at around three in the morning to the air port. We drove to the airport and I looked in the parking lot for Laurie's car. I didnt see it but I just figured she was a little late. I walked in the airport as I grabbed my carry on. This was the last place you could go with out a ticket. "Come on sweetie, we have to go now" my dad said grabbing my hand. I looked down at my shoes and started to cry. She's not coming. I won't get to say good bye to one of my bestfriends. "Cassie" it was Laurie. I ran towards her wrapping my arms around her giving her a hug. "I will come visit, I promise" she said as a few tears came from her eyes and down her cheek. "Come on Cas we're going to miss our flight" I herd Lucas yell behind me. I unwrapped my arms around Laurie. "Goodbye Cassie". "This isn't good bye. I will see you soon. Thanks for always being there for me". I said pulling away again and running toward my dad and Lucas. I saw her waving out the corner of my eye. I would wave back, but it's too painful. I will miss every one. I got on the airplane and looked out the window. "This isn't good bye❤️
