Spencer sighs as she looks at her reflection in the foggy mirror. She sighs and touches the piece of white hair that appeared not a year ago. She's tried dyeing her hair, countless times, but the streak won't dye out. She's blonde now, and actually doesn't mind the new color.
Stepping out of the hotel bathroom, Spencer dries her hair. Now she wasn't one for breaking the law... well, usually she had a good reason to do so, but this time was different. Identity theft was new to her but she was desperate. Being on the run wasn't easy, she knows. She's been running her whole life, and unfortunately Ross figured out her old pattern of hiding. She had to come up with a new one that unfortunately involved law breaking.
She left New York awhile ago. The state was just becoming too small to hide in. So, she headed North. Far north to a small town in Alaska. The drive had been long but worth it. There was hardly any surveillance and it gave her the perfect cover to hide. Plus, the weather was nice. Summer in Alaska is hot, and she doesn't mind, but the weather was turning to fall, and that meant snow. Spencer hated snow. It was just too cold for her liking.
Then again, Spencer never really got to experience any sort of luxury. That right was stripped away from her when she was arrested. Spencer sighs and looks around the room she was currently staying in. It was a presidential suite compared to her cell.
✧
Spencer fights against the agents' hold as they drag her through a facility. Countless cells cover the walls, and the shouts of prisoners hurt her ears. They lead her to a large class holding cell, open the door, then toss her inside. Spencer jumps to her feet and pounds on the now closed door. Ross walked directly up to her, a sly smile on his face. Spencer scowls at him.
"You should have signed the accords." Spencer pounds her fist against the glass. Ross doesn't flinch. "You'd best get used to your surroundings." He starts walking away. "You're going to be here awhile." The door to the cell block closes behind Ross and Spencer lets out a sob. It wasn't supposed to go like this. She was supposed to be happy. With Tony and Peter.
God. The thought of them made her sick. In fact... Spencer lurches over to the toilet and vomits. She sobs against the toilet seat and scoots over to the cell wall. She makes her way to the corner of the room and hides her face in her knees. She wants to leave. She wants to go home.
✧
Spencer shakes her head; the memory leaving her train of thought. Home wasn't a possibility then, and it certainly isn't now. She keeps telling herself to stop thinking about it, but a part of her still hopes. Still longs for her family. For Peter. For happiness.
Spencer huffs and pulls her winter coat on. She has to get to work.

Tony Stark stares at the wall blankly. The meeting commencing around him has not entered his thoughts once. He's too busy thinking about someone else. Thinking about her. Spencer. His baby girl. It physically hurts his heart thinking about where in the world she is. If she's safe. If she's thinking of him.
"Tony." Tony doesn't hear Steve and continues to stare at the wall. The Avengers all share a look. They all know where his mind is. They miss her too. "Stark." Steve says a bit more firmly this time. Tony blinks away from the wall and inhales deeply. He runs a hand down his face and nods. "Yeah, yeah. What?" Steve sighs and droops his shoulder. "Look, we all miss her but we have to focus on the task at hand." Tony stares at the ground, grinding his teeth.
Steve looks to Natasha for help. She sighs and leans toward the billionaire. "Tony, it's been a year you have--" Tony jumps up, an agreed expression on his face and tears in his eyes. "Don't! Don't tell me I have to move on!" He points out the window, tears threatening to spill. "Not while my daughter is out there alone!" His bottom lip quivers and all the Avengers look guilty. "My baby girl."
Tony closes his eyes tightly and wipes away the tears. He sharply inhales and looks at the ground. "I need a drink." Tony rushes out of the room and the Avengers look down. Tony has gone down a spiral of bad since Spencer was arrested. Things only got worse when she escaped. He turned to drinking and locking himself in his lab, desperately trying to find Spencer.
Ross will occasionally make an appearance and... interrogate Stark. He questions him, demanding to know where Spencer is and everytime the answer is the same. He doesn't know. Ross will go through his systems anyway, just to make sure he's telling the truth. After these visits, it's best to leave Tony alone. He became angry and unstable. He once punched Steve in his drunk state. After that, the unwritten rule was decreed.
✧
Peter hasn't been doing good. At all. After she left he changed. He completely shut down and showed no emotion. He couldn't feel without the one thing that made him truly happy. Spencer. God, what he wouldn't do to get her back. To hold her again.
He's pushed everyone away. He sits on the roof of the school to eat... well, stare. Ned tries to talk to his friend, but he never responds. MJ is even worried about him. The whole school is, really. Flash doesn't mess him anymore. There's no point. Peter just lets it happen. He doesn't even respond with a witty remark. May almost cries everytime she sees her nephew. It hurts her to see him so sad. So broken. She tried to cheer him up, several times, but nothing worked anymore.
Not even Spiderman. He hardly goes out anymore. The city's crime rate has skyrocketed and, honestly? Peter doesn't care. He's just so void. Of everything. His once happy spirit is dim and depressing. He hardly thinks, and when he does, it's nothing good.
He keeps his promise to Spencer though. He's thought about doing... it.... again, but Spencer always pulls him back. The thought of her is his salvation, yet the very thing tearing him apart. He's just so torn. So tired...
He wants her back.
He wants her back now.
SHE'S BACK! IF YOU THOUGHT IT WASN'T POSSIBLE TO HATE ME MORE THAN YOU ALREADY DO, THEN BOY ARE YOU WRONG!
SPENCER'S TIME IN THE CELL WILL SLOWLY BE REVEALED OVER TIME, UP TO THE POINT WHERE SHE ESCAPES.
A LITTLE SPOILER THAT WILL BE EXTREMELY HARD NO DECERN WHAT IT MEANS: THIS BOOK WILL END SIMILARLY TO THE WAY SHE-RA ENDED.
