P̶̝͆a̴̫̓͝r̴̢̧̔t̷̢͐ ̷̝́9̸̥̎̿

      Spencer takes a shaky step backward. No. This was her one chance to get away. She has to get away. Jake shakes his head and picks up his speed. "Nice try Spencer." At the same time, both of them run. Spencer yelps as she runs as her injuries are still open. Jake easily catches up to her and tackles her to the floor. "No!" Spencer sobs. She fights against him, but she's nowhere as strong as him.

      She kicks, hits, scratches, but he won't let go. Spencer swings her arm and finds Jake's face. She grips her fingers, nailing her nail in his eye. "Ah!" Jake brings one of his hands to his eye, giving Spencer enough time to wiggle out of his reach. Jake growls. Spencer stands and starts to run away again, but Jake grabs her foot, causing her to trip and nail her chin on the ground, making her bite into her tongue.

      Spencer's mouth fills with blood and she looks down at Jake. his whole right side of his face is covered in blood. Spencer claws away from him, but his grip is too strong. "We still have some business to attend to Spencer." Spencer's teary eyes meet Jake's. With her free foot she kicks him in the face. In the moment he is distracted, Spencer twists her body and frees herself from his grasp. Not before a loud crack fills the air. Along with Spencer's scream. She broke her foot.

      Spencer looks at the bone sticking out of her leg and almost vomits. She pulls herself to her feet and hobbles away, adrenaline taking away the pain. She can hear Jake behind her. It's enough motivation to run. As fast as her broken foot will take her.

      One problem. She's leaving a trail of blood behind her and it sticks out in the white snow. Spencer finds a parking lot ahead of her. Several cars could act as the perfect cover. Spencer whimpers and doesn't dare look behind her as she enters the parking lot. Choosing a tan sadan to hide behind, Spencer finally has time to catch her breath. "Spencer..." Jake's voice echoes throughout the parking lot. Spencer covers her mouth to stop her cries from being heard.

      Jake passes the car Spencer is hiding behind. She darts behind another right as he appears around the car she had just been hiding behind. Spencer carefully runs to the other row of cars. While Jake checks the cars on the opposite side, Spencer starts checking car doors, seeing if they are open. Finally she finds a black SUV and climbs into the driver's seat. She ducks as she sees Jake walking through the center of the parking lot. It's only a matter of time before he finds Spencer.

      Spencer closes her eyes as she presses the lock button, praying Jake doesn't hear it. She looks around the car and finds a scarf in the passenger seat. She grabs it and ties it tightly around her calf, cutting off the blood flow. Spencer puts her hand on her chest, then her eyes find the underside of the driving control. She ducks down and rips the wires out, ripping two of them apart. Jake pounds on the hood of the car, making Spencer jump.

      "I know you're in there Spencer." Spencer shakes her head, making the tears in her eyes fall. "Come on..." She whispers to herself as the wires spark. Finally the engine sparks to live. Spencer laughs in celebration. "Yes!" She sits up right in the seat and sees Jake standing before her. His wicked smile sickens her. "C'mon Spencer. There is no escaping this. There is no-" Spencer slams on the gas pedal and the car jerks forward.

      Jake is sent flying into another car and Spencer wastes no time steering out of the parking lot and down the street. As she looks through the rear view mirror Jake steps into the street. How the hell did he survive that? Spencer shakes her head. She doesn't care. She wants to get away from here. Spencer presses down on the gas pedal and the car goes faster.

      Loki reaches up to his eye and feels the wetness on his fingertips. He's crying. No, Spencer is. Loki jumps up from his seat and rushes out of the room. There was a feeling of relief in his chest, along with countless other emotions. So much was swarming inside him, but he knew one thing for sure.

      She got away. She was safe. Injured, but safe. Away from whoever hurt her. Loki closes his bedroom door and sits on his bed. Maybe now that she was safe and had the dagger, Loki could reach her through the mental connection. He reaches to her mind, but right as he is breaking the surface, he is pushed back. She still doesn't remember him. Not enough to communicate with her.

      But maybe just enough to show her a location. Loki shakes his head and pushes back on her mind. New York fills his mind and then pushes his thoughts to Spencer. It should be enough to get her to come here.

      New York

      Spencer stares out of the road before her. Why had she thought of that? She huffs and shakes her head. She has to go there. She doesn't know why, but she has to. SOmething there is calling to her. Maybe she'll find answers there. Answers to everything.

      Spencer gasps ruggedly as the pain finally sets in. She sobs and reaches to her leg, barely noticing that she is passing the Canadian border. Spencer screams in pain and swerves slightly. She's just escaped, not this. It's just one back thing after another.

      Tony frowns. Something is off. There's this odd feeling in his chest. Had he forgotten something? "FRIDAY, is today important in any way? Any birthdays I forgot?" Tony purses his lips and thinks of Pepper. "Any anniversaries?" He rubs his chest. "No sir. You've programmed me to automatically remind you of any important events." Tony nods. So thats not it. He stands and lingers next to his workbench.

      This feeling... he's had if before. It's like a constant feeling of dread. Worry... Tony narrows his eyes and clenches his chest. Almost like a panic attack, but different somehow. Like when Spencer had been taken by HYDRA and... and when she was arrested. It's that feeling. Tony's eyes widen and he runs out of his lab. Something is wrong with Spencer. He can feel it.

AH WRITING THIS PART HURT ME. I HATE SEEING SPENCER IN SUCH A BAD STATE.

BUT AT LEAST SHE ESCAPED. AND WE GOT TO SEE MORE OF IRONDAD™!
