I nervously got dressed in some shorts and a crop top. I wore no sleeves today so I'd start feeling more confident. I looked at my appearance nervously and took my hair out of the bun to let it hang as a ponytail. I left my room and met up with the others downstairs. "Zea I forbid you from touching my mate like last night." Aaru laughed and I joined in. "Oh what like this?" I said and massaged Jace's breast. "Little baby you're gonna get extra full from these!" I cooed at Jace's belly as my hands got pried away by Aaru. I gave his belly a hug and joined everyone else in the car. "Bye!" I waved to Jace and Aaru as they closed the door with a wave. I wish I was stuck at home on maternity leave! It's no fair! Callum drove the car and Giselle sat in the front. Me, Xavier, Izzie, and Tanner sat in the back. Instead of sitting in the seat I sat on Xavier's lap. He seemed to not mind so I played games on my phone until we arrived. As we climbed out my heart sped up and everyone kept walking as I felt frozen in my spot. "It's okay." Xavier said as he placed a hand gently on my face. We shared a quick kiss and he held my hand into the building. "I like your shirt." Xavier said and I looked at him to see that his eyes weren't on my torso but on my arms. I think he was proud that I had no sleeves today. I smiled at him and he chuffed. As we walked into class I sat next to Xavier and I didn't care about the people looking at me. All I thought about was Xavier...

Xavier had practice and so did the rest of the pack so I decided to watch YouTube in the library. The librarian was gone and the place looked deserted so I went to the corner table and relaxed for awhile. Suddenly my face rammed into the table from the hand on the back of my head. They grabbed my ponytail and dragged me to the library restroom. As I cried and looked around trying to escape I caught a glimpse of chad. Suzzie's boy toy of course. He threw me to Suzzie and she opened a shall. Chad left after she gave her a peck and explained he was late. She laughed as she pushed me to my knees in front of the toilet. She stomped on my back and forced my head into the water. I fought my best and pushed hard but I was quickly loosing air. Water started to fill my lung and as the world started turning black the foot moved and I was pulled up. All I saw was yellow and then darkness embraced me.

I blinked my eyes as I was startled by the brightness. I heard gasped and my name so I looked around and was confused at the sight of my family and pack. "What...happened?" I asked as I noticed my head was throbbing. "Chad and Suzzie got arrested for attempting to murder you..." Izzie said and held my hand. "Where's Xavier?" I asked and she smiled. "He and Empress are in holding because they beat Chad and Suzzie up good." She laughed and for some reason it made me grin too. "The doctor said you're lucky because you're perfectly fine. It only caused light trauma for you and nothing on your face got broken." My mom smiled as a tear went down her cheek. "Mom..." I whispered and reached out for her to lean in and hug me. "At first he didn't know if you had drown or not but luckily Giselle got to you just in time and tried CPR." She sobbed and I thanked Giselle. She told me not to worry about it but she saved my life. I sat up and mom looked concerned. "That's alright everyone is free to leave you just have to sign them all out." A nurse explained as she walked in. She detached me and helped me stand as she gave me a check up. She confirmed again that I was okay but I needed to stay away from too much activity so my lungs could feel better. They checked me out as well as Xavier and Empress. When we went to the holding room Empress ran and gently hugged me as she told me how angry she was. She let me go and I looked at Xavier and he just looked at me the same way he did when I came home late from dress shopping. They left the room for us and Xavier whimpered. I walked up to him and he hugged me. Gently but I could feel how he was shaking. "I'm okay Xavier...I'm okay." I soothe him but it didn't seem to help. "I-I told you I be there...I should have skipped practice. I keep thinking that there was so much that I could have done. I almost lost you ag-" he rambled against me. "But you didn't. I'm still here." I cut him off. "I feel like a bad alpha. A bad mate." He whimpered. "You're the best." I held his face up so he would look at me. I wiped his tears and gave him a deep and passionate kiss. This is probably the third time I've made him cry. I keep doing that. I promise to make sure that he doesn't cry about me anymore. I will make sure I do everything in my power to protect Xavier from his own tears. "Come on big guy. No more sappy tears. Let's go home." I giggled and he sighed then gave me a weak grin. I grabbed tissues to clean up his face and we walked outside to join everyone. "Yeah and they totally were making out in the back!" Jace was speaking while he had his back to us. Everyone was signaling for him to stop but he kept talking about us which made me blush. As an idea came to mind I smirked. "Omega titties!!!" I laughed and groped him. "Ahh!" He jumped and smacked my hands off. "Hehehe. Omega booty?" I said as I stalker closer to him and watched him run away. I then chased him as the rest laughed. "Hey! No running in here...Didn't I just tell you to relax as well?!" The nurse from before playfully scolded me but she still meant what she said.
