5-Not meant to be

Again, the male thought he heard a very clear and sickening crack.

"Pardon?" He said. Karina began to feel even more nervous.

"It's just that..Nuada you're a prince and I am not even of royal blood. I am not saying it won't work, I'm just saying that it won't last for long. Our happiness I mean."

"How...could I have been so blind.." The male muttered. "...tell me, what did you gain out of all this? I can't even phantom why you wasted my time!"

Karina's mouth fell wide open.

"What now? Gain something? Nuada are you even listening to me at all?"

"Of course I am! You have gotten tired and knowing you humans, you always use excuses to run away from everything!"

"What?!" The girl screamed in shock. "You idiot! I am not running away I have been in deep thought for ages now just to find a way to tell you that you shouldn't waste your tim-" But the girl didn't have time to finish her sentence that she got cut off.

"Why of course I shall no longer waste my time! Now that you perfectly made me understand!"

"Why are you jumping to conclusions?! What's wrong with you?! You aren't even allowing me to explain everything and you're throwing words in my mouth like some brainless fool!"

Nuada let out a wry laugh. " 'Brainless fool'? Indeed I am. How could I think that a human could possibly be up to my standards. "

By now Karina had tears in her eyes still trying to reason with the male.

"I should have never let my a human sway me.."

"Nuada stop being dramat-"

"Do not say my name so liberally like someone who actually cares!!" The male raged.

"No!! I will say your name loud and clear if I have to and maybe then you will shup up and listen to me, and stop acting like a five year old brat! Oh but who am I kidding, your royal and spineless back has received so many pampering over the years and with the way it took me so long to finally be friends with you, let alone make you my boyfriend, you sure were a pain!! Therefore, you are a brat!!" She yelled in anger.

"Ah, so you do admit that you befriended me. But for what reason, is still a mystery to me. "

"That is not what I meant and you know it!"

"You see Karina, I am quite pleased you are telling me all this now, for you see I know I would have regretted it."

Now it was Karina who heard a sickening crack. Her hand lifted up to her chest and clentched unto her black shirt.
He came even closer to her and in a whisper he spoke again.

"You see..I'm so glad; I did not bed a useless hum-" Karina's hand flew to his face before he could finish his sentence. But she did not slap him. Oh no. She punched him. Which is different; both literally and physically.

"You ignorant good for nothing a**hole!!! If you even took a moment to listen you would realise that I was trying to tell you that I do not see myself as a good queen! That you would need someone more experienced, someone better than me! Because Nuada..." She said, emphasizing on his name. "....I love you. And I dont want you to waste your time, or worse make the wrong decision! I have no experience whatsoever! And with all that is going on, the attack, the trauma, the awful nightmares, which you are aware of, and now the prisoner, and not to mention with the weight that I would have to carry by staying at your side, to take care of so many people, which I don't mind cause I would do anything if it means helping people with their struggles in life. But its the fact that I am HUMAN Nuada! Will your people accept a human as their ruler? Beside their beloved king?! Now tell me..who is the selfish one now?"
