CARLA'S POV:
Argh. My head. Why I love drinking I will never know. I'm too tired and ill to even open my eyes. I don't even know how I woke up. I still feel like I'm asleep. But I could here faded bangs in my flat. I bet it's Michelle making a brew. Always up early that one. Even after constant drinking until 5 in the mornin'. Damn! I forgot to ring Sally. Great they'll all be wondering where I am. I'll do it now. Argh, moving when you're hungover is like trying to walk with a broken leg. I'm finally opening my eyes and I feel like a vampire. Wanting to stay in the dark all day away from the daylight.
'CHELLE?!'
She was lying there. Blood on her head and on the floor.
'Who did this to you eh?'
I rushed over to the phone and it was difficult to pick it up. I couldn't stop shaking.
'Yes hello? An ambulance please.
12 Victoria Court.'
I threw my phone across the room and ran towards my everything. She was just lying there. All still. Who could do this to Michelle?
The paramedics buzzed the door. And then I realised the phone was hanging down and the door was open. Was it a break in? I couldn't even think. The only thing I wanted was for Michelle to be okay. I really hope she will be.
They rushed in and checked her pulse. Her 'very weak' pulse. Oh god, I couldn't breathe. Why couldn't it have been me and not her. All of our memories together just came flooding back. The times she was there for me and even the times where we were enemies. I even remembered us fighting in front of the factory and her pulling my hair. But then I thought to myself, she wasn't stable to even breath properly.
My tears were racing down my face and all I wanted was for Chelle to be hugging me. The police let themselves in and started briefly examining the place and interviewed me. But all I could say was that I wasn't even awake when my sister was getting battered a few feet away from me. All I could say was the door was open. That's it.
The paramedics took her away in the stretcher and said they had to take her straight to the hospital and no visitors were aloud. How ridiculous. That made me feel so much better that I couldn't be there to hold her hand.
'Is there anyone you can call to come pick you up? This place is a crime scene now. I'm sorry.'
I phoned Maria to come get me and cheer me up. She's the only person left I could trust. She's also someone who's been there for me a lot. So we went to the pub for a drink. Even though alcohol got us into this mess, it always helps that little bit in a situation like this. Maria kept going on about Luke. But I didn't listen. I couldn't listen. My whole world just got snatched out of my hands.
When the Police let me back into my own home they let me know that she was attacked.
'We found a statue with your sister-in-laws blood on it. We reckon that's what she was hit with. We found it in the bin. We're taking it to the station to check for prints.'
'A statue? Very Tracy Barlow.'
'Yes. A statue. We also found some marks on Miss Connors legs and arms. We think a rape occurred before the blow to the head.'
That's when I stopped and my whole body collapsed to the floor.
