I open the door to my house and see two Lords and the King. My eyes widen at the sight, as I know I need to be nice to him. "My King." I simply say, my voice emotionless. I am pretty sure I just lost my family, I am still in shock.

"Your family has been causing a lot of issues." One of the Lords tell me.

I close my eyes, knowing what this means. I am going to be brought to The Cages and used for blood. When families continuously cause trouble, everyone else who is related gets some sort of punishment. It is a way to scare families into calming down and obeying the rules.

"I know, sir, but I have never been a part of it." I tell him, knowing he wouldn't care.

The Lords smirk, but the King stayed emotionless. I sigh, knowing I am going to lose this battle. That I am going to spend the rest of my life in captivity. I just wanted to have as much freedom as a human could; and live my life that way. "You are coming with us. We do not need you breeding and continuing the family line of rebelling against us." The Lord tells me.

"I don't want to breed." I tell him. King Michael is homosexual, so if I admit that I am as well they can't laugh. If they do, they face death or torture, or even worse for their status: Rejection. The King will kick them from the mansion, and most people will look down upon them.

One scoffs and asks, "Why is that?"

"I can't." I respond quickly.

They laugh. Even King Michael and I feel extremely embarrassed. "You infertile or something?" The King asks me.

"No, I am gay." I reply.

They all stop laughing. The Lords shocked. They shouldn't be, they're standing next to someone the same sexual orientation as I. "Gay, huh?" King Michael asks me.

I feel frozen in place. I can't speak or move. I just examine the three of them, trying to find something to say. You are always supposed to respond to the King when he asks you a question. But I am not sure if his was rhetorical or not. "So you're gay, am I correct?" He asks again. I move my head slightly to tell him he was correct.

He just smiles. "Ashton, Calum, take him. I will be back at the mansion. Bring him." He orders, and walks past me, and through the open door. Here it is, I am going to be brough to The Cages. This is going to be the end of my freedom. My family's actions have finally affected me.

The Lords walk over to me, each grabbing my upper arm on their sides very tightly. I wince a bit, but I decide not to show pain. I must show strength in this, maybe it will be respected. Maybe I will be able to come back here. Use my knowledge for something useful. I could teach other kids, and get paid limited money for it. I could make a living, be it a small one. Feed myself. But I do not want to be fed from.

They walk me out the door, and my feet are dragging behind me. I look down to the ground, deciding if I show any sort of resistance that could be me gone.

"Are you actually gay?" Lord Calum asks me.

"Yes sir." I reply quietly. At this moment I wish I wasn't. That I didn't admit that. It just makes me like King Michael. We have something in common and I do not want anything in common with the King. My family, when I came out, told me it was a phase. Brainwashing from the King. Though I knew it wasn't, I just agreed with them. I dated a few girls, though I did not like doing so. I told them what they wanted to hear. So, admitting it to the King himself is was weight off my chest; but also created a lot of guilt. I felt like I was betraying my family.

They open the back of a van and push me inside. They close it behind me, and it is just dark. This is how they transport people. People that are never seen again.

They make sure you can't see out of it. They don't want you to know where the mansion is. Most people would think how we wouldn't know, the answer is that the city is heavily guarded. Humans that try to get in are captured or killed.

The mansion is in the heart of the city. At least, that is what I hear. There is no actual knowing.

The road makes me slide around, and I can tell we were on dirt. From my understanding, the city is expensive with nice paved roads. They are repaved every month, to make sure they stay the way they should. So, for three days every month humans find it easy to rebel and not get caught. Some will still get killed, but for the most part they need a car to transport them. But, they can't use cars. They rip up the old pavement and add new pavement. It is made from economically friendly materials, and isn't made from tar; like we used to use hundreds of years ago. Cars are also solar powered, every one with solar panels on the top. They need 6 hours of sunlight to work for 10 hours. They do not charge when you drive them in sunlight, nor do they drain power.

The van comes to a halt and I am flung foward slightly.

Dread fills me when the doors open. I know I am most likely at The Cages. I wish my family was smarter than this. They would still be around and I would be at home with them.

Lords Ashton and Calum both get in, and I push myself up against the wall. I hold onto a small handle, there for when people are most likely getting thrown around. They grab my shoulders and I keep my grip on the handle.

Resisting my fate is no use.

"Let go." Lord Ashton orders.

I close my eyes and loosen my grip. "Don't bring me to The Cages. Please, it was my family's doings." I beg as they bring me out of the van.

"We're not bringing you to The Cages." Lord Calum informs me.

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion and they start dragging me around the other side of the van. I see a large, expensive looking house. The way up here is dirt, and there is large lawns on either side of it. "Why am I here?" I ask the two of them in surprise. They don't respond as they force me towards the door.
