I see the sign saying that we were entering Manhattan.

I have never been here, I have only been in the torn down, poor, human areas of New York. Manhattan is for the rich vampires, for the Lords and the Knights.

Knights were sent to take over a country, turn some, make new Cages, and more.

They never showed any mercy on a human of any kind, and despised us probably more than we did them. But it is odd... They all used to be like us. All used to be weak, normal, and mortal.

And to tell you the truth, I was terrified of going into the city. Even under the protection of Michael.

"So what's the plan for today?" I ask him as he parks on the side of the road.

"Well, I was planning on bringing you to the history museum, because you are a bit dull; living where you were and everything. Then we are going to lunch, and I am praying that you will not do anything haste. The vampires here will see you, and kill you. Most vampires do not know I am dragging a human along with me constantly. Then after lunch, I am planning on doing a bit of shopping with you. I pay them, but I have no issues with money. I would never become bankrupt, so feel free to pick out whatever you want. Then we are going to the nearby pool, as I take it you have never been swimming. I reserved it for a couple of hours so it would just be you and me. Then we are going to dinner, and then we go home." He explains briefly, getting out of the car.

I unbuckle and open the door following him.

At least he was talking now.

I stand beside him, he walks a bit slow so I could keep up with him. The vampires were staring at me, most with the same yellow-orange eyes I saw Michael have earlier in the day.

I grabbed onto Michael's arm lightly, but I wanted them to know I had protection with me. He goes into a building that I was guessing was the museum.

"I did not reserve this, so you will have to deal with vampires staring at you. I am warning you, if you go anywhere alone; not everything will know you are with me and they will kill you." He warns. Nice to know.

"This history goes back for a couple hundred years, starting a bit before the vampires took over." He tells me. We stop at different exibits, then we get to the representation of the beginning of the war.

There was a very realistic model of Michael behind the glass. "Watch this." He says to me, posing exactly how it was. "Can you tell the difference?" He asks.

I just roll my eyes and shove him lightly, as he stands upright with a smile on his face.

You'd almost think these signs were written by humans. The sign explaining the beginning of the war did not seem to favour vampire takeover.

'It was the beginning of the end, some would call it. King Michael, the first vampire, turned two local boys in Sydney, Australia. Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin. These boys would turn out to be the two most powerful after the king. The first Lords. After this happened, humans were scared. As the three turned more people, Australia reached out to its allies for help. Nobody would step in. This was until Lord Calum Hood travelled to the United States and turned the first person there. There were many military bases throughout the US, blocking the vampires from coming in. These would protect the president, others in government, and the military; leaving civilians to be brought to places similiar to slaughter houses. The Cages. King Michael came over with Lord Ashton Irwin, and the three would settle in New York as the war began.'

I couldn't help but wonder what life would have been like for the people first experiencing this. The first vampires. The fear those people probably felt. "They overexaggerated it." He sighs.
