Chapter 12: The family secret

Sky walked down the long winding tunnel not sure where it was going to lead them, she stopped to look around as she swore she heard whispering. She shook her head slightly then continued to walk but soon they came to a dead-end confused she swung the flashlight around confused. There had to be something here if her sister told them to look in the basement maybe it was just the tunnel itself that her sister wanted her to see. Tired from walking for so long and feeling defeated she sat down drooping the flashlight between her legs and smacked her head into the wall she was leaning against and closed her eyes tears threatening to race down her face as she felt as if she would never see her sister ever again. Suddenly a noise could be heard like something scraping against the dirt floor of the tunnel sky looked up then grabbed her flashlight as she stood and swung it around to see where the noise back at the dead-end she saw a door opening, and a blinding light that filled he once darkened tunnel.

Standing there was her sister grown up and beautiful Cassandra looked at sky and smiled as a little boy peeked out from behind her skirt then ran back down a short hallway to what looked like a living room then right behind her was their mother alive and well smiling at sky with a proud admiration that a mother would give their child. Sky ran towards them tears of happiness streaming down her face as they hugged happily as they cried together sky stood and turned towards kregrez as he stepped forward and introduced him self as her fiance.Her mother stepped aside to let them in leading them to a huge living room with several people sitting around playing games they all stopped and stood to welcome them as a older woman in a red dress come in smiling.

"hello my name is Spekð its norse, for wisdom im the head witch for the Arkkane. witches come here form all over the world to join and your family has been a part of this coven for many generations you and your sister is the 100th generation to be in the coven and cassandra's son makes 101 generations of your family in the coven"

Sky looked over at Cassandra and the little boy she was holding, she walked over and smiled looking at him.

" How old are u? "

" I'm three auntie " 

Cassandra smiled and looked at him then sky " His name is Zedock, Cyrus gold his father ...was KIA during a rescue mission, when one of the elder witches was kidnapped by witch hunters.

Sky looked down biting her lip then, looked at her mother then her sister then suddenly perked up, she looked at kregrez blushing.

" mama, sis this is kregrez my mate " she blushed as they looked at him surprised then Cassandra looked at their necks and cracked a grin.

"so my big sister's mate is a gargoyle " kregrez flashed his royal seal at her and it seemed like Cassandra was about to burst out from all the excitement. 

"MY BIG SISTER IS GONNA BE A QUEEN!" She tackled and hugged Sky and giggled happily, but then backed up " What about ....dad...? 

Sky looked down 

Dad .... dad is goanna stay in prison where he belongs after what he did to us it's where he belongs, I'm sorry but that's how I feel." 

Her sister nodded and looked down feeling conflicted but knowing Sky was right, willing to put all of that behind her she hugged Sky once more then went to the dining hall to help prepare for dinner, their mother showed Sky and Kregrez to their room then showed them around, so they didn't get lost and left them alone to relax after their long tiering journey. 

Sky walked around lost in thought still trying to comprehend everything that had happened, she looked at the walls and saw portraits, of who she assumed to be ancestors, and living relatives of hers. Kregrez grinned as he watched her, he silently snuck up and grabbed her from behind, and lifted her up before turning her around and looking into her eyes. 

"what's wrong you look like you're worried about something"

"something doesn't feel right....i have a feeling that my father is going to do something drastic....something that could ruin everything."

"well for now lets enjoy what we have found, you thought your mother was in jail and your sister was dead now  you see they are both perfectly alright, so lets go spend time with them you three need to catch up, also your mother said that dinner is ready "

Sky took kregrez's hand and followed him up to the dining room, where the table was set and people were sitting down talking with one another.  Sky nervously looks around as she sits next to her mother, some of the people nearest sky introduced themselves, then started to eat. she looked around at everybody with a feeling of finding a lost family. Her mind wondered to her childhood then to what she thought was the death of her sister, she was brought back from the memories as a large plate of food was set in front of her, her favorite, simple yet delicious hamburger,with rice ,tomato sauce, and peas. she looked around and saw everybody starting to dig into their meal and she joined them, kregrez  pushed his food around his plate making a face at it as if the stuff was poisoned.

"you need to eat " Sky looked at him smiling at his childish frown of disapproval " it's not poisoned it's actually quite good trust me " 

"Hmmm...... " he looked at her then back to his plate "I'll try it but if I don't like it I'm not eating it" 

Sky smiled and watched with interest as he seemed to fight with him self until finally he shoved a fork full into his mouth and started to chew, slowly the look of disgust, slowly turned into a look of delight as he started to scarf down his food,pausing only to take a drink to wash his food down so he could shoved more food into his mouth. 

"slow down you're going to choke" Sky smirked at him, her mother smiled and stood up and went to the kitchen, soon her and the cook returned with a platter piled up with food and set it in front of him.His eyes widening, sky snorted and laughed as droll practically dripped down his chin before he started devouring his new plate of food. When dinner was over everybody lounged around enjoying each other's company, playing games and getting to know the new members of the family, and even tho so much had happened sky started to feel as if everything was going to be okay, she still had that nagging feeling in the back of her mind, but being here with her new family and feeling like she belonged again pushed that thought to the back of her head, and for the first time in years she felt at ease.
