The Effects Of Bullying

Oh this is chapter 39-
*'39 playing in the distance*

Guys sorry i forgot to mention btw but Zach's father abusing his mother and John getting bullied are like a month apart.

Zach was freaking out to say the least.
John wasn't at school and the fact that something bad happened to him the day before wasn't helping.
Two classes had already passed and he was nowhere to be seen.

"Freddie!" Zach called out and literally ran to him.

"Hey?" Freddie replied, surprised by this.

"Have you spoken to John today?"

"Mhm."

"Is he sick?"

"No. He's just not coming to school because of what those bastards did to him yesterday."

"A-Aren't you worried?"

"I am. I hope he isn't so badly hurt." Freddie looked down.

"No, no. About the other thing."

Freddie furrowed his eyebrows. "What other thing?"

"Oh no." Zach panicked even more.

"Zach, what is it?"

"He didn't tell you?"

"He didn't tell me what?" Freddie panicked too.

Zach pulled Freddie closer to him and whispered, "I-I umm, I don't know if I'm invading John's privacy like this but...the day I wanted help from you, John told me that he contemplated suicide once when we were dating and that he- he once cut himself too. Th-That's why I'm freaking out. Wh-What if he hurts himself again?" His voice was shaking towards the end.

Freddie's eyes widened and he backed away a little bit. "A-Are you serious?"

Zach nodded.

"Oh God." Freddie managed to say. "I-I need to check on him. I'll call my mom now to come amd pick me up. Oh my God what if he's already hurt?" Freddie was full on panicking at that point with his eyes filled with tears. "Thank you, Zach. I-I'll see you...whenever." With that, Freddie rushed off to call his mom.

John woke up and was surprised to see his mother home. After finding out she stayed home to take care of her "sick son",  John forced a smile and had his breakfast. He didn't have much appetite and he felt so so numb and empty.
After doing so, he went to his room and spent an hour or two there, doing absolutely nothing. Then, he decided to check his phone.

Wish he hadn't.

As soon as he turned it on, he was welcomed (or not) by notifications on his home screen. From Instagram.
