20 December
They were backstage, doing their final rehearsal.
"Yes! That's perfect!" Freddie shouted. "Excited?"
"Well yeah, Fred." The blond said, nodding his head.
"Let's get ready darlings. The time is running out."
First Freddie went in and got changed. Then John. Then Brian. And finally Roger.
When Roger came out, he looked perfect. The dress fitting his feminine features perfectly with his blond locks draped on his shoulders."Wow..." Brian whispered under his breath. "Sorry."
Roger turned to him with a smirk and a blush.
"That's it. I'm calling you Rogerina from now on, my dear." Freddie said, laughing a bit. "I can't even imagine how you'll look with make-up on in a few minutes."
////
"What's your top listened artist on Spotify Wrapped?" Freddie asked.
"Mine is The Beatles of course." Brian exclaimed.
"Mine is The Who." Roger said.
"It seems like I listened a lot of U2 actually..." Freddie said. "John, darling, you?"
"Guess." He answered, challenging him.
"Mmmm...ABBA?" Freddie asked.
"Correct!"
"Ha!"
"It's funny that we all like old music..."
They started applying their make-up.
"Where did you got your make-up from lovies?"
"I borrowed them from Alice." Roger answered.
"I got them from mom." Brian replied.
"Same." John continued.
"Brands, dears?"
"It says May...bell..ine here...Maybelline." Roger said, looking at the foundation.
"Maybelline? That's nice. But MAC is better."
"How come you know so much about cosmetics, Fred?" John asked.
"Oh darling, you know that I love to play with make-up!"
"The new James Charles?" Brian asked, a smirk playing around his lips.
"Better darling..." Freddie said, pretentiously, not getting his eyes off the mirror.
They all applied their foundation, lipstick, blush and eyeshadow. Then there were two things left. Mascara and eyeliner.
Roger got the eyeliner but Freddie snatched it away from him before he could even get the cap off.
"Why the fuck was that for?!"
"You are NOT puting on your eyeliner and mascara, dear. I'll be doing everyone's...I don't want you to dye your eyes black!" Freddie exclaimed, putting his hands up.
He lifted Roger's head up with his hands and started drawing the line on his eyelid. When it was done, he told Roger to keep his eyes open and applied the mascara. He finished it.
"Go do your hair."He moved on to Brian, doing the exact same thing to him.
Then it was time for John. He lifted his chin up and with the touch if his skin on his own, made his heart pound against his chest. He started doing his eye make-up when John shyly smiled at him. A small one. Though, it still made Freddie smile back at him.
Freddie finished the mascara...but John didn't leave. The smile vanished from their faces. They were just staring at each other's eyes, not a word coming out from their mouths.
"GUYS!" They heard Roger's voice, making their eye-contact break.
"Look what I've found from Clare."They came closer to him.
"So first of all, I will put this wig on because I need volume which my real hair doesn't have. Second of all, I stole these cute little bows from Clare. They're black with white polka dots on them."
"They ARE really cute darling!" Freddie exclaimed.
*****
"Brian..." Roger turned to him.
"Yes, Rog..."
"Can you put the bows on my wig please? I can't put them right on the spot I want for some reason..."
"Of course."
Brian got behind him and Roger gave him the bows. He put them on his wig, concentrating while Roger watched him. Brian had no idea Roger was watching him, admiring his beauty.
"So Roger?" Brian suddenly asked.
"Yes?"
"What do you think about Alice?"
"She's one of my best friends. Why?"
"So you don't like her romantically?"
"No." Roger laughed. "I don't."
"Oh, she likes you..."
"Pfffft, I don't think so..."
"No. She told me." Brian said, feeling a slight bit of guilt for betraying her "secret".
"Hm." Roger said. He couldn't say much. His acting wasn't good unlike Alice. He had to keep his expressions as short as possible so he wouldn't give away that it was all a plan.
"So...do you like any girls Brian?"
"No Rog. I-I am...uh...gay." He said blushing.
Roger turned to him with eyes wide open. "Really?"
Brian nodded.
He pulled him to his level and whispered in his ear. "I'm bi...""Oh really Rog!?"
Roger nodded this time with a little smile.
They turned at the mirror again.
Brian had confidence now, knowing Roger didn't like Alice as more of a friend."We both look like girls, Roggie."
"Yeah, we do."
They both started laughing at themselves.
Then Brian said something...
"Except for the fact that I look like a creepy doll and you look totally beautiful..."Roger stopped laughing and turned to him with a blush and a shy smile.
"You-You think that I'm beautiful? Really?" He said, twirling a strand of his wig around his finger.Brian smiled too, blushing and nodded his head once, shrugging his shoulders.
"Thank you..." Roger replied, looking down.
"You have a few minutes left!" They heard the voice of the teacher who organized the event.
They lined up and were in front of people a little while after.
/////
"Okay, the winner is...."
Everybody crossed their fingers and prayed for it to be their group.
"Queen!"
The four of them jumped up with joy and went to get their award.
/////
They removed the make-up.
//////
"You guys deserved it! I recorded it!" Alice exclaimed, hugging all of them.
"Oh darling! Can you send me?"
"Of course Freddie."
/////
It was the evening....
"@freddie__bulsara tagged you in their post." Brian's phone buzzed.
He opened Instagram and the thing Freddie had posted was their performance. He looked at the caption.
