SALLY JACKSON

'Mom! Where's my bag? ', A voice could be heard yelling through the Jackson-Blofis house early in the morning.

'It's here honey.' Sally replied, 'I was baking some blue chocochip cookies for Annabeth and your friends at Camp. I just finished packing them. '

Percy burst into the kitchen, his black hair a messy rat's nest like always.

'Mom noo!', Percy whined.

'That was supposed to be for me. Annabeth will kill me if I don't give these to her now. '

Sally burst out laughing.

The smile lines coupled with the sun beam from the window on the other side of the room gave her an angelic look. Sally had always been beautiful and full of life. The pureness in her heart and the happiness she radiated were one of the many things that attracted Poseidon to her. But fate had other plans and she had been blessed with a beautiful baby.

Perseus Jackson.

She had never regretted meeting Poseidon. He was a beautiful chapter in her life, and it made her who she was today.

She slowly stopped laughing and opened her eyes to see her son staring at her with his baby seal eyes.

Those eyes, Awww. She thought,They will be the end of me one day.

'Stop laughing mom, it's not funny.' Percy grumbled.

She smiled and turned around to the small counter where she had kept a ziplock bag.

'And these are for my sweet little boy!', She laughed and ruffled Percy's hair.

Percy turned red and started laughing along with his mother. She knew him better that anyone.

Sally just held her son in her arms; content that he was safe with her for the moment. She kissed his head gently, having to strain forward, now that he had grown taller.

Percy was a good kid. He always put others before himself and would go to any lengths to protect them. Sometimes she really didn't know how to feel about that.

Worried, mostly. Always proud. All of this bundled on top of a tight pinprick of sadness.

He would never have a normal life. And in a way she was grateful, because then Percy would never have to lead a life with the huge possibility that the people around him would never respect or care for him. She was grateful that Percy found another family; one that could stay with him through everything his world threw at him.

She could feel herself tearing up again. Her baby was always in so much danger and there was virtually  nothing that she could do about it.

'Mom!', Her son's voice shook her from her concerns. She quickly shook her head trying to reassure herself. 'Mom, don't worry! Nothing will happen to me. After all, I am the son of Sally Jackson. '

She instantly smiled at that. 'All right young man, you know me- I can't help but worry about you.' She walked up to the cabinet and grabbed a small photo frame from the middle shelf.

'Here. You were telling me that you didn't have much to decorate your cabin with, so I had this made. '

'I ... I don't know what to say', Percy fumbled, 'Aw thank you mom'. He carefully put the frame inside his backpack and zipped it hesitantly.

'I have to go now mom, I told Argus and Chiron that I would be at Camp by Nine Thirty. I don't want to worry them. '

'Okay Percy. Tell Annabeth and Grover and all of your friends over there that I said hi ', she said walking with him to the front door. 'Also, don't forget to give them the cookies!'

PERCY JACKSON

Percy rolled his eyes playfully at that. Checking his trousers for Riptide , he gave his mother a small hug and walked towards the Prius parked in the driveway.

Paul, his step-father, would be away for a month. Paul was a nice guy. A bit boring, but he could definitely live with that. Boring was good sometimes. Also he knew that Paul for good for his mother. They loved each other, and he was happy for her.

He got into the car and started the engine. Backing out of the drive way, he rolled his window down and gave a short wave to his mother. She waved at him with a smile on her face.

He started driving to Camp. Soon he passed the heavy traffic and the noisy city. As the fields rolled in, he was just hoping that no new monsters caught his scent while he was on the road. He may have been faster on the vehicle, but he did not want any mortals getting hurt because of him. Also, it was a nice car, and he did not want to return a giant scrap piece of metal to Paul.

As he turned into the clearing of the camp's strawberry farm, he heard a small weird rustle. Rustle. He quickly stood up and put his hand in his pocket, just in case something was lurking behind the bushes. Rustle, Rustle.

' Just come out already, whoever you are. I know someone or something is there. '

He was startled to see a man holding a gun slowly rise from the large thicket. The man was in a fancy black suit and was wearing dark shades.

'Put your pen down kid.'

Percy looked down to see that he was holding Riptide. He hadn't noticed, but that was after all just his natural instinct. He looked up to the sound of the man cocking his gun.

'I am serious kid.' the man slowly spoke. 'Who are you?'

'I am not telling you an- '

A loud screech interrupted him and he was immediately tackled to the ground by the other man, who turned and shot upwards.

'What the hell are those things?', He looked surprised to see that his bullets bounced off the creatures' skin like they were made of flimsy paper or cheap plastic.

Percy immediately looked up and his face paled. He let out a string of Greek curses and glanced at the man beside him.

'Oh Shit. We're in trouble. '
