Itsuka POV:
A few days passed since the incident and I seem to be on the road to recovery. 'Finally, I can eat something that isn't in an IV drip.' Thanks to the injury I obtained, I couldn't eat anything due to massive damage to my lungs and some to my stomach to the point I needed a transplant. Today the doctor said I should be able to eat. In front of me was a thing of miso soup, tuna, and some rice to go with it. 'I think I'll try the tuna first.' I grabbed my chop sticks genuinely excited that I'm going to eat something to take some of the tuna in it. I immediately put it in my mouth to have the uncontrollable taste of rancid fish. I immediately spit the fish out in a napkin thinking it just might've been bad and they overlooked it.
'Guess I'll try the miso next then.' I went for the miso to take a small sip. Once I did, it tasted like I had straight up sludge in my mouth with dirt mixed in. I spit the soup back in the bowl before looking at the rice. 'Well it's two out of the three. I at least need something in me and I haven't been active for the past few days.' I went for a few grains of rice to eat and immediately spit it back out into the napkin with the tuna. 'What's wrong with me? Did that injury mess up more than just my organs?' The door opened for Dr. Kanou and Uwabami to walk in. "It's good to see you're up and about young Kendo. How are you feeling today?" "Ok. Nothing too bad that you need to worry over." Uwabami looked at my food to the side to begin asking. "Not hungry or something?" "Huh? Oh, I think I might've just gotten a bad fish fillet or something. Not something to worry about." "You really shouldn't skip meals after what happened. It's dangerous to."
Dr. Kanou walked over to the tuna to taste a bit and smile. "Nice flavor. The cooks outdid themselves with this." "See. You probably just had a bad end or something." "I wouldn't worry too much about it. Everyone has troubles when they go through what you did. It isn't unheard of that your senses of taste were altered temporarily in the accident. You should make a full recovery though." I wanted to believe the doctor, so I didn't put much to the thought. "Anyway, you have two visitors. I'll let them in when I'm done here." Uwabami sat down while I opened my top up a bit for the doctor to listen to my breathing. Once he finished, he let me fix myself while he wrote down whatever he did. "No other afflictions? Any issues with breathing or pain in your ribcage or stomach?" "No. Just the odd loss of taste." The doctor got up to walk towards the door. "Very well. You should be able to leave tomorrow morning. But I do reccomend you be cautious of how much physical activity you do. The procedure that we did wasn't an easy one." He opened the door for a man and someone that looked like a boy to walk in.
"Hello Ms. Kendo. My name is Yukinori Shinohara. I'm a Special class investigator and this is my partner." "Hello. I'm Juuzo Suzuya and I'm a Third class investigator." '....Is he a boy or a girl?' "Anyway, we have a few questions that we'd like to have you answer if you're up for it." I nodded for them to sit down. "First let's begin with the night of the accident. What happened?" I started to think back before answering. "It all started on a late evening patrol."
