It wasn't a huge deal—but wasn't it?—it looked like Yoongi had simply lost his footing in the shower and slipped. He must have hit his head and pulled the shower curtain down on him on the way down.
Jungkook was the first person on the scene. He was practically a blur as he shut off the water and tore the shower curtain off Yoongi's limp body. But he, along with everyone else who had once again gathered in the doorway, froze in horror at the sight. Their eyes travelled up Yoongi's heavily scarred body, all the way up to the red river flowing from his head.
To everyone's surprise (including his own, to a certain extent), Hoseok stepped forward and knelt in front of the tub. He held his hand in front of Yoongi's nose and almost breathed an audible sigh of relief when he felt tiny puffs of air hit the back of his palm.
"Yoongi?" he said a little louder than he meant or needed to. "Yoongi, can you hear me?"
When there was no response, Hoseok set his jaw and immediately started giving orders. "Jinnie, go find the first-aid kit. I think it's still in the kitchen. Joonie, grab a flashlight. Tae, get a dose of aspirin. Kookie, get Yoongi a couple more towels and some fresh clothes. Why is no one moving? Go!"
After recovering from their collective shock at Hoseok, of all people, taking charge of the crisis, everyone rushed off to their respective tasks.
"What about me?" Jimin asked.
"You come here. Get in the tub with him. Try not to move his neck too much but get in behind him. Brace his neck against your shoulder and hug him—yes, like that. Exactly. Now, don't move."
"Why?" Jimin asked as he followed the instructions, trying not to shudder as his clothes were soaked with bloody water.
"I have to find the source of the bleeding, find out how bad the concussion is, and see whether he needs to go to the hospital or if he can wait until the doctor gets here in the morning. To do that, I have to touch him, and if he wakes up and tries to fight me, he'd just hurt himself more. I need you to keep him still."
Yoongi stirred at that. He had been able to hear this whole time, but the voices had just sounded like white noise until the words, 'keep him still'. Was someone going to hold him down? He felt hands on his body and his head hurt. What was going on? Was he being punished now? Why did his head hurt so badly? He felt sick.
"Okay, it looks like he's waking up. Talk to him. Keep him calm but don't let him fall back asleep. Remember, try to keep his neck still—yes. Just stay like that."
Yoongi blinked his eyes open but immediately shut them, wincing at the light. Had his bedroom always been this bright? And cold, for that matter? He was still in his bedroom, wasn't he? Someone was talking to him but he couldn't make out what they were saying. The voice was loud, but somehow, it also sounded very far away. Yoongi felt someone touching him. He couldn't move. Why couldn't he move?
In the back of his mind, Yoongi remembered being in the bathroom with Jimin, though he couldn't recall why. Where was Jimin, anyway? Jimin could make this better. Jimin always made things better. Yoongi tried calling Jimin's name but his lips wouldn't move the way he wanted them to and his speech came out slurred. His head hurt. Why did his head hurt?
"I couldn't find a real flashlight, will a phone flashlight work?" Namjoon asked, placing his lit-up phone on the edge of the bathtub, sighing in relief when Hoseok nodded.
At that same moment, Seokjin burst back into the room, holding a tin box in one hand. "I found the first-aid kit."
"Hand me a pair of gloves, activate the ice pack, and put the rest on the floor for now," Hoseok commanded the eldest member without missing a beat.
