It's strange how you can know the future
But still be persuaded that it won't ring true
Yet when it does you feel broken
When the truth you knew all along comes into view
Why do you still listen to the persuasive voice
The one that second guesses your every move
And makes you question every decision which you make
The one that toys with your mind
And that evokes emotion
That leads you to the edge while it stands below
And tells you to fall
Then walks away without waiting for you to land in it's arms
The persuasive voice which told you to have hope
Was the voice that made you lose it all
