Unsortable (Draco fanfic)

The Fight

Riley's POV: 

As I'm running away, I think about how bad is could be that he saw me singing in the forest. He could tell everyone I'm crazy for singing to myself, but he was nice when I met him. Truly I want to wish for the best but no one can ever know the outcome of a situation. This is out of my hands now, I guess it would be best to not worry.

Thankfully soon its dinner time and I sit with the trio.

"So did you find out what's wrong with Hermione?" I ask Ron and Harry quietly.

"No but I'm thinking we might be able to find out later," Harry replies.

"How?"

"Well we were going to follow her and see where she went" Ron says.

I decide not to respond because I won't go with them. If Hermione found out I was part of it she would never forgive me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself! 

I need to take a walk, dinner is tense already with Hermione on my left and Ron on my right. They seem to need to do some talking. Possibly for a long time. 

So I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. As I walk out I think someone follows me but think nothing of it. I start my walk down the hallway but stop when I hear someone behind me.

I slowly turn around and see Cedric behind me. He's smiling in a way that makes me think he's happy but gives me a bad feeling. He grabs onto my wrist and pulls me closer to him. I try to get his hand off me but it's no use, he's much stronger than I am. If only I willed myself to work out more, maybe I wouldn't be in this situation. Dang it.

"I see you've been avoiding me ever since I saw you singing. Tell me why" My vision became blurry and I couldn't see. Then I heard a voice. The person who's been my saviour too many times before. 

"Let go of her" Draco said dangerously calm.

Draco POV: 

"What the hell do you think your doing, you want to fight right now? I don't think that's in your best interest when I'm the one who has her" Cedric spats back.

I can see her struggling to get out of his grasp but he doesn't notice. She is in distress but can't seem to get away from him. I want to risk going over there to try and get her, but if I do there's not telling how he would react. Just as I'm trying to think of how to save her she speaks.

"P-Please let go. Your hurting me." Riley says just loud enough so that all of us can hear.

Cedric looks at her surprised and lets go but before he can do anything else, she runs past me to Hermione and Ron. She cowers behind the both of them.

"Do you really wanna do this here Diggory? You know that you won't win" I say with certainty.

"Well I guess we'll never know until we try" Cedric spats back.

He walks towards me and takes his wand out. I do the same. We say different spell and as I go to use the strongest spell I know, so does Diggory.

"Stop!" Riley screams while getting in the middle of us. But it's not enough for us to stop the spells in time. Both of them hit her and she falls.

"Riley!" Cedric and I scream at the same time, while running up to her. I grab her and run as fast as I can to the nurse. Diggory follows. Not soon after Hermione and Ron follow pursuit as well. Once I got there I put her on the cot in front of the nurse. I can tell by the way she is looking at us, she is quite disappointed.

"Well, what happened now? I thought you guys were going to take it easy?" the nurse says sadly.

"Cedric and I got into a fight and she tried to stop us but both of our spells hit her, I'm sorry" I try to explain the rest of what happened as well.
