Third person POV:
The four students got up for their first day of classes. Riley seemed nervous but the other seemed at ease. Riley's robes were gray with gold accents just like her house colors. The trio wore their Gryffindor robes as usual.
They went to breakfast and ate together at the Gryffindor table, mainly because they were all friends but also because there was no table for Huffledor Venrin's. There was only one student in that house in the first place. While they ate Riley felt eyes on her but didn't know who they were from. Possible a lot of students were looking at her, who wouldn't be curious about a new student who has shaken the whole school.
One of the most curious of eyes was, of course, Draco Malfoy's. He had been intrigued ever since the train ride but decided not to talk to her yet. Of course, that worked out well for her because she was still terrified of him. Although he had not done anything to her, she was wary of his mere existence. Draco seemed too mysterious and confident for her liking.
But she did not have to worry about him because her first class was Herbology with the golden trio. And Draco was not in it.

Riley's POV:
Herbology, the study of magical plants, and how to use them. Professor Sprout was the teacher in this particular class. He seemed to be just fine but maybe not.
"Hello class today in Herbology we will be only reading about the plants so to get ourselves caught up and remember what we learned last year," He said.
We all opened our textbooks and started reading. This class was boring but it seemed as if it would get better as we went along. For the rest of the class, we read in our Herbology textbooks and learned about the plants we would be dealing with soon.
Our next class was charms in which sadly we had with Malfoy. Thankfully I sat by Hermione so I wouldn't have to sit with him. Ron and Harry sat behind us talking about something dumb I assume. Our professor in this class was Flitwick. He seemed kinda nervous which for some reason put me at ease. But we still had to be in a class that was with Malfoy. Every once and a while I would catch him looking at me. Weird.
Then I saw him make a bird and blow on it to fly towards me. It landed right in front of me but no one else seemed to notice. Not even Professor Flitwick who was still looking in the students' direction. Draco then motioned for me to look at it.
(To image. Just without the sling because that doesn't happen in my story).
I slowly open it, scared of what it could say but also too curious not to. I look at the writing inside the bird and it's rushed but still nice. I read what he wrote onto the bird. It said:
Meet me by the black lake today at lunch.
I looked at it once more then put it inside my bag, wondering if I should show the trio or just go see him. I have always been curious at heart but I wondered if it was too much of a risk. I pondered what to do, but couldn't seem to find an answer. Not the only answer I couldn't find. I was interrupted out of my daze when I heard someone call my name.
"Miss.Lovegood, Riley! I asked you a question, dear?" Professor Flitwick said annoyed I didn't answer him the first time.
"Umm uh, c-could you repeat the question?" I say quietly hoping not to get yelled at again.
"Fine, what is the incantation for the shield charm Miss. Lovegood?" he sighs.
"Well umm-" I start fidgeting now that everyone was looking at me.
