AN: There will be quite a big of switching POV's so look out for that.
Riley's POV:
As Hermione and I walk towards Harry, I notice that every houses' quidditch team is on the field. They all seem to be laughing and having fun, while also practicing. I almost wish I could be on a quidditch team but I'm not very good at flying as it is. And I don't even have anyone else in my house, let alone a whole quidditch team.
"It's good to see both of you again," Harry says to us.
"Well isn't it the one and only Lovegood," someone says.
"Leave her alone Marcus," Harry tells the boy.
"Why should I, she seems fun enough to tease," the boy says while looking at me. Before anyone else can answer for me, I say something to him.
"Uh, mister? I don't believe we've met, I'm Riley" I say with a kind smile, "I don't know if I've offended you or something, but for that, I'm real sorry".
The boy looks at me mouth hanging open. His eyes go soft and walks away without another word. I'm confused by his action and a little hurt he didn't answer.
"Did I say something wrong?" I ask Harry.
"No, you didn't. He just didn't think you'd even answer him," Harry tells me tenderly.
I furrow my eyebrows together still a little confused. I try my best to make sense of what just happened but cannot. While I'm in deep thought, someone asks me a question. I don't hear it fully though.
"S-Sorry what did you say?" I distractedly ask.
"I said do you want to try flying?" Harry asks again while looking back and forth between Hermione and I. Like trying to ask Hermione if letting me try flying is a good idea. Even though I'm not very good at flying, I want to prove them wrong and try my best.
"Yes"
"Okay then just hold onto her and say 'Up!', when you want to fly," Harry tells me.
I do this and then fly upwards. When I go up, I'm already high enough to see each one of the quidditch teams. I try my best to go down but can't seem to make my broom go down towards the ground. I try tilting myself downwards but lose my grip on the broom.
As I start my descent towards the ground I scream, but then lose hope as I get closer and hold myself in a ball. Thinking this is the last moment of my life, I feel tears stream down my face. This is it.
Draco's POV:
I hear a scream and see someone falling off a broom. For a minute I don't realize who this is, then I realize it's Riley. I start flying up and go towards her. When she tucks herself into a ball, I realize that she's lost hope in surviving.
Not if I can help it!
I swiftly get closer to her and hold my arms out. She falls right in. Who's the better seeker now Potter.
Third Person POV:
Riley is still trembling in his arms after he caught her. He sees her trying to keep herself together. They are still in midair so no one can see what is going on.
"I got her! She's okay, we'll be down in a minute!" Draco yells down. He does this so no one has to see her crying like last time.
Draco looks down at her and she has removed hands from her face. Surprised that she didn't plummet to her death. As she looks up at her savior, astonished to see Draco's face.
He slowly flys them to the outskirts of the forbidden forest.
"W-Why did you take me here, w-what are you doing?" she asks, uncertain of his plans for her.
"I thought you would like to not be seen by everyone in school like this," he tells her.
"Thank you," Riley gently says. They get off the broom, Draco helping her down.
She was still shaking from the nerve-wracking events that just took place. Her breaths wavering but growing steadier by each one. But unlike last time, she slowly walking towards him. Riley softly grabs onto him and pulls him towards her. Then as if she committed a felony lets go, and backs away shoving her hands on her face.
"I-I'm s-sorry I shouldn't have done that, I-" Riley was cut off by Draco pulling her back into him.
"Don't be" He whispers in her ear, as he tightens his hold of her.
She slowly relaxes into his arms and puts her head down in his chest. She sighs in relief, glad that she's out of the air. She knew that flying was a bad decision but she wanted to prove herself. After this, she doesn't think she'll ever try again. Draco was just glad he caught her in time.
Finally calming down, Riley pulls away and starts her walk back to her house.
"Hey, I can take you back you know. You don't have to walk back that far," he tries to tell her.
"I-I know, but umm, I should just go," Riley says quickly. Draco watches as she walks quickly to her dorm. He felt bad about how she still didn't trust him unless she had no other option. He had to find a way to be with her when she wasn't in danger. That would prove harder than he expected though.
What do you think Draco is going to do?
How will he hang out with her, without the golden trio tagging along?
I hope you all have a great day!!
Bye Bye from Ri Ri!
