The Puppet || Newt Love story ||

"Psttt, get up." I opened my eyes to see Newt hovering over me. I looked out the window to see that the sun was bearly coming up. It was early. I gave Newt a confused look"Why are we up so early?"

He gave me his hand so i could get up, "I need to show you something so change and get ready. Ill wait for you outside in the front. Just dont make any noise the others are still asleep."

I nodded. I quickly changed into the same clothes i had on yesterday ,since i havent gotten any new clothes, and put my shoes on. I quietly walked outside to see Newt waiting for me.

"So what'ya wanna show me?"

"Follow me." We walked across the glade to one of the walls. Newt uncovered a squared window that was covered by ivy. He motioned fore to step on a log and look through the window.At first i just saw a glimpse of the maze walls. But as i looked closer i could see a distinct weird figure. Its silouette got bigger and bigger as it got closer. Suddenly it ran to the window. It was trying to claw at the window with its metal like arms that were sticking out of it.

I gasped and tried to back up quickly but I forgot I was on a log.I closed my eyes waiting for the impact of the gound but felt nothing. I opened my eyes to see brown ones starring back at me. Thats when i realized Newt had caught me. We were just starring at each others eyes like how we were when we were making flower crowns.

"Umm, Newt you can umm let go now."

"Oh,sorry".

He helped me up and cleared his throat . I said "Thanks by the way. W-was that a G-griever."

"You got that right shank."

We walked to the walls of the Glade where Minho and Thomas were waiting.

"Hey Newt, Hey Harmony. Good luck on the first job today!" I said "thanks Minho careful out there, you too Thomas." They waved bye to us and ran into the maze.

Newt turned to me "So me and Alby decided that you wont try to work for the slicers so your first job is with the track-hoes. Zart is over by the gardens just tell him i sent you." I said bye and headed to the gardens where Zart was plowing. He saw me and stopped what he was doing.

"Newt sent me here for my first test job?"

"Oh yah, you can start by picking out the bad weeds from the plants ."

I chose a spot and started my work.

It was really hot outside and after about an hour i could feel sweat drip from my forehead. My back was aching from staying crouched down on my knees.

I wiped the sweat off my forehead and took some breaths.

From the corner of my eye i saw Newt come up to Zart. They were talking but it looked more like arguing.

Newt had left and Zart approached me. He had a basket and tossed it to me. On instinct i caught it.

"Can you go fetch some fertalizer, oh and Newt wants to talk to you after your done. You've worked hard enough today."

I got up from my spot. My bones cracking. I left to the deadheads. While walking through the trees i heard a snap of a twig.

"Hello? Newt i-is that you?"

Another twig had snapped but this time behind me.

I gasped and turned around to see a glader standing there. It was Ben!

"B-ben what are you d-doing here?"

From the looks of it he was still sick and he was scaring me a bit.
