Tokka one shots

Thank you for being my best friend

Version 2 of the "Let me hold you a little longer" one-shot. Get your tissues ready. Your gonna need them (at least i did).

Toph's POV

"I don't think boomerang is coming back Toph! I think this is the end" Sokka said. When I heard those words I knew it was over. I couldn't help but cry. I'm completely blind! I'm 100 ft. up in the sky and all I can feel is Sokka's hand. Sokka hurt his leg in the fall and risked his space sword for us. Fire is beneath us and some fire nation soldiers have found us. They're at their most powerful right now.

We're only children fighting in the war. I'm only 12 and he's 15. We don't even know if Aang is winning or not. Or if Zuko and Katara are okay.

So this is it... I'm going to die from a 100ft fall into the fire of war. I ran away from home and didn't even say goodbye to my parents! How are my parents going to feel when they find out their only daughter died in the war. How will everyone feel when they find out two of their best friends have died. How will Katara feel knowing she lost someone else she loved because of the war.

our hands are getting sweatier and I'm almost out of his touch

"SOKKA!" I yell

"TOPH HOLD ON!" He yells

"DON'T FORGET ME!" more tears stream down my face

"TOPH DON'T SAY THAT!" I feel a teardrop fall on me. He was crying, he's crying for me! I only had a few more second before I was out of his reach.

"NO SOKKA IT'S MY TIME... JUST WIN THE WAR FOR US" I hesitate to tell him my true feelings for him, "I LOVE YOU! I ALWAYS HAVE, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY BEST FRIEND!"

All the memories came flooding back. The times I would mess with him pretending I wasn't blind. The time he trusted me with a secret. His secret of not remembering what his mother looked like. The time we scammed those people in the fire nation. The times he would let me hold onto him when I wasn't able to see. He treated me like a normal person. Not some blind helpless earthbender who came from a rich family. He liked me for who I  was. That's why I love him. Those are the memories I will hold onto for eternity.

"I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU TOPH! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMORIES!" I can hear his voice crack "WE'LL WIN THIS WAR FOR YOU"

Those were the last words I heard, as my hands slip away from his. He cries "No" as I fall to my death. I try to relax my body and I close my eyes. My arms and legs are up and I feel the heat from the fire getting hotter.

"goodbye" I whisper as my last words

Sokka's POV

She knew it was the end for her and I felt guilty. It should be me who dies, not her. She's only thirteen and has so much more of the world to explore. I looked down and saw tears rolling down her cheek, when I tell her boomerang isn't coming back. It broke my heart seeing her like that.

"I LOVE YOU! I ALWAYS HAVE, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY BEST FRIEND!" She yelled, "she loves me..? " I couldn't help but cry. I was going to lose my best friend to the war. I had no words, I was completely speechless. So I spoke from the heart.

"I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU TOPH! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMORIES!" I struggle to hold her "WE'LL WIN THIS WAR FOR YOU" Before I could say more. I lost her fingers. I looked down and I see her falling. I scream in disbelief knowing my hand was what let her slip away from me. My hand is what took my best friend away. I watch her disappear into the flames.
