We stepped into the cavernous store, I felt a chill go down my spine, Michael clutched my hand tightly.
"To be honest, I've always been scared of animatronics." He mutters under his breath.
"Me too man, me too. But there's no going back now." I gulp.
We look at each other and nod as we take a long step into the store. Inside was fantastically spooky, every animatronic and decoration had a special area, Spirit Halloween is always an experience.
"Ok, so, since we're both here to protect each other, lets just face our fears, go up to every animatronic, and then we'll see that it's not that bad!" I shakily suggest.
"Ok... I'll try it, but I swear, if it gets too scary, I'm out!" Michael promises.
We approach a nearby decoration, which appeared to be a sort of demon trying to suck the life out of a child.
"Ew, what the fuck." I say. "Who would want this in their yard?"
"I would!" Pete suddenly runs by us, his arms full of various Halloween paraphernalia.
"You are truly special." Michael calls after him.
The animatronic starts moving and talking, inhaling green smoke from the child's mouth.
"And that's how It feels to chew 5 gum." I joke bluntly, eliciting a burst of laughter from my partner.
"That was terrible. Absolutely horrible. I liked it, lets do another one." He grabs my arm and leads us to another scary item.
Oh, a demon on a swing... so nice.
"This isn't gonna be good," he gulps.
"Not at all..." I shudder.
The demon suddenly jolts up, making Michael leap back and me close my eyes with a quiet scream.
"You know what, no, I didn't like it." He gains his balance and laughs.
"Ok ok, me neither... but... hear me out... let's try that like, mini haunted house over there. It's really short! We should do it!" I pleaded. I was kind of enjoying the adrenaline rush.
"Uh... uhhhhh... for you." He surrenders.
We approach the nautical themed haunted hallway, I let the trembling tall goth lead the way, as I loop my arms around his waist. He glances back at me sweetly, my heart rate increases tenfold.
I close my eyes as we pull back the curtain. Inside is a small closet sized room with various blue screens depicting fish tanks along the walls.
"See, this isn't actually so bad." I comment.
"I think you might be right"— WHOOSH! The loud roar of a shark echoes through the room.
"Well actually, on second thought..." Michael uncomfortably laughs.
I unhook my arms from his waist and walk up to meet his gaze. He states at me with tenderness with a tinge of lust. His sunken eyes are beautifully framed with blue and purple dark circles, his milky skin stands out in the dark. I notice him gulp, his Adam's apple shifting as he does so. He slowly brings his black nail polished hand to my cheek, and utters quietly,
"You are the most exquisite creature I hav ever met."
Our lips meet, my hand entangles with his hair, I inhale his unique scent of smoke and pine. He pulls my body closer to him with his other hand, I move to kiss his jaw, leaving black lipstick marks. We pull away slowly.
"I- I'm sorry..." he whispers.
"Don't be." I smile and take his hand.
"Hey, I- uh... oh. Sorry." We jump at the sudden noise to see Pete, standing at the doorway with the curtain drawn back. "It looks like I was interrupting something." He says dejectedly.
