Chapter 12:
The Next Day.

Nick came home that morning, and quietly came into the house, Joe came down the stairs and noticed Nick heading to his room.

Joe: Nick?
Nick: *turns around* hey bud... what's up?
Joe: Are you just getting home?
Nick: uh...
Twins: *comes down the stairs* good morning
Joe: uh... good morning girls, what are you doing up
Riley: um... we have school?
Joe: alright I forgot
Mads: Nick?
Nick: uh... yeah girls?
Mads: why are you still in your clothes from yesterday
Joe: uh... girls, why don't you go make some breakfast
Mads: I want eggs, bacon and sausage with a side of fruit
Joe: your getting cereal today, so go whip yourself some cereal while I'll talk to Nick
Twins: okay *heads to the kitchen*

There's a wall between the kitchen and living room but no glass window or door.

Joe: Nick, what the hell!
Nick: look, I'm sorry. I didn't know how long the date will be
Joe: coming home the next day is irresponsible to the girls especially on a school night! How am I supposed to explain this one to the girls?
Nick: Joe, they're 10, they probably don't know what's going on
Joe: Nick, these are smart girls, they had the birds and the bees talk already, I think they already know
Nick: we didn't do anything...
Joe: Then why are you home late?
Nick: we fell asleep watching a movie, look
Joe: the sex hair says other wise
Nick: *roll eyes* whatever, I gotta go get ready for school. I got nothing prepared for today lesson, so I'm just gonna wing it with a surprise quiz
Joe: Kristy, is not gonna like that
Nick: Kristy will never know, why because you won't tell her
Joe: keeping this a secret will break her heart. She thinks of you as family Nick. You two tell each other everything
Nick: I know
Joe: And if nothing happened, what's the big deal?
Nick: I stayed the night at one of her professor's houses...
Joe: Nicholas you dog!
Nick: shhhh keep your voice down, the girls can hear you in the other room
Joe: you and Professor Bernice, I can see it now
Nick: shut up Joe, not a word to Kristy
Joe: if nothing happened, why are you keeping this from her?
Nick: because Kristy doesn't want us dating her professors
Joe: how do you know that?
Nick: she told me
Joe: she didn't tell me
Nick: duh... she talks to me the most then she does to you
Joe: oh, speaking of Kristy, she's grounded
Nick: why?
Joe: for going to the Chris Brown concert
Nick: what? Is that where she went last night?
Joe: yup, you would know that if you were here
Nick: sorry, I better go get dress for work, don't want Kristy to see me like this
Joe: yeah its worst enough I have to explain this to the girls and tell them not to tell Kristy what they saw today
Nick: I'm gonna go change *leaves*

Joe heads to the kitchen and finds the girls eating breakfast.

Joe: oh good, you girls are eating breakfast
Twin: uh-huh
Riley: How come Nick couldn't make breakfast?
Joe: he came home late last night, he had a date
Riley: Why was his date so late?
Joe: uh... he watched a movie with her all night and fell asleep at her place
Twins: oh...
Joe: I don't want you girls telling Kristy about this
Twins: okay
Mads: but why?
Joe: she just won't like it
Riley: why?
Joe: she just wont, leave it as that
Twins: okay
Kristy: *comes in*
Joe: well someone is finally up, goodmorning

Kristy growls at him and grabs a garonale bar from the box.

Riley: uh-oh crabby Kristy, nobody likes crabby Kristy
Kristy: shut up twerp
Joe: hey, what did we tell you girls about the word shut up?
Mads: but you just said it
Joe: shut up Mads, only I can say it because I'm the adult
Riley: How is that fair?
Joe: because I'm the boss of you girls

Kristy rolled her eyes and took out her phone.

Joe: little girl, your grounded, that means you're grounded from your phone
Kristy: Joe... stop... leave me alone *push him off her*
