I wake up to a distinct sound of people arguing. I try to open my eyes but there seems to be something covering my eye. Sometimes like a blindfold.
I try to move my arms but it feels like they are tied up. I am in a sitting position and it feels like both my hands are tied to the chair I am sitting on. My neck hurts like hell. I wonder how long I have been sitting like this. And how I got here.
Slowly I start recalling what happened. I remember that I was at my party in the Queen State Tower and everything was going well. Then I went to change for my dance but I don't remember actually doing the dance.
I think harder and more memories start flooding my brain. I remember seeing a door open then entering it. A few minutes later the lights turned on and and alarm started blaring.
I also remember that I was shot and I remember exactly what the person who shot me looked like. Though I don't feel any pain where I was shot. The only thing that hurts is my neck and my wrists because of whatever is tying me.
"Hello?" I softly say but I hear no reply so I assume no one is with me. I try to feel my surroundings with my legs since they are not tied up.
I slowly stretch my leg and i don't feel anything so I guess nothing is in front of me. When I move my leg to the right I do it too strongly and knock something down. Very loudly. Oops!
Immediately the arguing stops and I hear a door unlock. Then I hear a couple of footsteps going down wooden stairs. Suddenly the footsteps stop and there is silence.
"Um hello?" I ask and no one answers though I can feel that more than one person is in the room with me. "Someone please say something!"
"Let me deal with this," I hear a male voice whisper. Then he later says in a normal voice ,"Hi. What's your name?"
"What do you want from me?" I ask in a shaky voice.
"Don't worry! We're not gonna hurt you. Just tell me your name," says the voice.
"Why are you keeping me here?" I ask.
"Girl just say your freaking name!" yells a female voice from a few feet away.
"Lehlani Brown," I say as a tear rolls down my cheek.
"Ssshh! You're scaring her," says the male voice.
"Guys. Check this out," says a second male voice from a distance.
I hear footsteps moving away from me and I can slightly make out what they are saying.
"Guys look. She is Karl Brown's daughter," says the second male voice.
"Karl Brown? As in the businessman and millionaire?" A third voice asks.
"Yep. That's him alright. Look here's a picture of them," says the second voice.
"The fact that her dad is rich could be a good thing or a bad thing," says the female voice.
"I know where you're going with this and I don't agree. We are not going to keep her here for ransom," says the third voice.
"Come on dude. Chill. It's no biggie. I'm sure her dad will probably hurry and give us the money so we don't hurt his little girl," says the first voice.
"Easy for you to say. You're the one who brought her here," says the third voice.
"I had no choice. She saw me. If I had let her go she would tell everyone what I look like and get me arrested," says the first voice.
"Though bringing her here wasn't a good idea. Now you have risked her being able to recognize all of us," says the second voice.
"Shut your pie hole and concentrate on nerdy stuff," says the first voice.
"He's right though. You did risk her seeing all of us by bringing her here," says the female voice.
"Fine ,I get it. But she's here already. What's the next plan of action?" The first voice asks.
"I guess we should ask for ransom from her dad. He is rich and I'm sure a few millions won't hurt," says the female voice.
"Guys. What you're doing is dangerous. Her dad is rich which means he has connections. If he decided to to try and look for us ,we're doomed," says the third voice.
"You're forgetting you have me. We'll send the ransom message from an untraceable network. And I can even track his phone to see if he tells anyone about this," says the second voice.
"Cool then, I guess we're set," says the female voice.
"Fine. Well do this. But keep in mind that I do not like this," says the third voice.
"That's okay. It's not like I care about what you think anyways," says the first voice and I hear laughing.
"What about her? What are we gonna do about her?" asks the second voice.
"We already discussed this. We're gonna ask for ransom. Where were you when we discussed this?" asks the female voice.
"I mean ,she's been here for almost ten hours. I'm sure she's hungry and cold. Look at her she's shivering," says the second voice.
I feel their eyes on me. Though I'm blindfolded it's not difficult to feel it when people are staring at you.
"He's got a point," says the third voice. "If we treat her nicely maybe when we set her free she'll tell her dad to leave us alone."
"Weird logic ,but okay," says the female voice.
"Why don't you make her something to eat?" asks the first voice.
"Me? No way! I'm busy," says the female voice.
"With what?" asks the first voice.
"Stuff. You should do it. You're the one who brought her here anyways," says the female voice.
"I agree," says the other two voices.
"Seriously guys?" asks the first voice as I hear footsteps going up the stairs. A few moments later I hear a door closing and there is silence.
I start squirming and shaking in my seat. Trying to get myself loose.
