The night of the birthday party

"You seem to be in shock, Mr. Kim." Wonyoung chuckled at the sight, seeing Taehyung's guard get thrown off. It was comical, really.

Taehyung blinked and shook his head to regain his composure. "Ah, it's just... I didn't realise who your son was. Let me apologise for my behavior earlier." He bowed his head and Woosik just waved his hands.

"It's no big deal. Honestly, I enjoyed the fact that you didn't know who I was." He smiled wide and Taehyung couldn't help but find it to be rather attractive. "You've grown to control your temper alot, Little Tiger." He chuckled, reminding Taehyung of their past memories together. During parties, sometimes Taehyung would get mad at some other kids and try to fight them.

He deemed the nickname "Little tiger" because of it.

Taehyung smirked, the corner of his lips raising in amusement. "I haven't heard that nickname in years." Taehyung commented then turned his attention to Wonyoung when he had cleared his throat.

"Your mother had asked us to come and officially invite you to the party. You know how Dasom is." The older man smiled and he pulled out an cream colored envelope with their red family seal on it. Very old fashioned but their families have always been like this.

"I know in this day and age, people would prefer an e-vite but we are old fashioned. I'm sure you know, Mr. Kim. Your mother is the same way." Wonyoung said.

Taehyung nodded and accepted the invite. "Thank you for the invite. I will definitely be attending, Mr. Choi." He responded and Woosik smiled widely at him.

"Make sure to bring a plus one, Taehyung. Nobody is allowed to come alone on this extravagant tomorrow night." Wonyoung told him then looked down at his watch to check the time.

Taehyung stared in awe at the watch. It was one of the newest models by Vacheron Constantin and it just so happens to be one of Taehyung's most favorite watch brands.

"Do you like it?" Wonyoung commented when he noticed Taehyung's burning stare into his white gold watch. "It's quite handsome isn't it?" He said with a narcissistic tone. "Maybe, someday, you'll be able to afford one too, Taehyung. Or a knock off."

The man said with a smirk. He knew that his family was more rich and powerful than Taehyung's. By far. And he never passed up an opportunity to remind any member of the Kim family that fact.

"I have to go, Mr. Kim. It was nice getting to see you. Again, make sure to bring a date!" Wonyoung said, slipping his hands into his pocket as he turned around and left the office.

Woosik rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm sorry about my dad. You know how he is." He sighed, "I'll see you later, Little Tiger." Woosik said with a wave before leaving.

Taehyung smiled until they were both gone then took a deep breath. He didn't realise how much he was holding it in.
