Starting over with French toast

Taehyung woke up with a dull headache and let out a soft groan. He didn't fully open his eyes just yet but he could tell he was in a bright room.

"Hey. You're awake." A soft voice spoke to him.

"Ugh... Jimin. Why is it so bright?" He whined softly then he heard a quiet laugh. "You're at the hospital, Taehyung." The voice spoke again.

Taehyung nodded then he realised who the voice belonged to. He opened his eyes completely and looked over to see Jungkook sitting in a chair besides his bed. He almost immediately sat up. "Jungkook?? Why are you here?"

"Ah, be careful getting up so fast. You just woke up." Jungkook said, placing his hand on top of Taehyung's. His thumb gently caressed the top of Taehyung's hand.

This kind of subtle behavior change made Taehyung confused but he kinda liked it. "Why am I in the hospital?" Taehyung asked. "You fainted this morning. Due to not eating enough and not sleeping enough."

Taehyung blinked then chuckled in embarrassment. "Oh.. I've just been busy is all." He mumbled up an excuse. Jungkook shook his head and held Taehyung's hand tighter. "Taehyung, the doctor said you could be depressed."

The younger gulped then looked away. "I wouldn't say depressed... Uhm.. Just alot on my mind, uh, lately." Taehyung stuttered with an awkward laugh at the end.

This didn't seem to please Jungkook though.

"Look," Jungkook took a deep breath in then out. "I know this whole .. everything... I haven't been exactly handling it very well. And I've been a major asshole to you when you didn't deserve it."

Taehyung looked at Jungkook while blinking. "Yes, you are the biggest asshole I know." He said, agreeing with Jungkook's comment. "And my whole family is full of jerks just like you so that's saying something."

Jungkook gritted his teeth and deadpanned at Taehyung's comment but he relaxed his face soon after. "Anyways, I have decided."

"Decided what?"

"I want to be here for you and the baby. Y'know, take care of you. Whatever you need." He said honestly.

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows. "Are you okay, Jungkook? Did you hit your head? Or is this a dream? Must be a dream." Taehyung just couldn't believe him.

Jungkook scoffed lightly then shook his head. "It's not a dream and I am perfectly fine. I just want to be responsible for my actions. I did put you in this situation."

Taehyung narrowed his eyes and pulled his hand away to cross his arms. Jungkook realised his mistake then quickly corrected himself. "Ah, no. Not situation but position-"

That didn't seem to please Taehyung either.

"Fuck, you know what I mean. Things got complicated for you-"
