Chapter Nine
A Friend Indeed
'She's waking up sir' Iyoma heard as she moved her hand. She opened her eyes and looked around her slowly.
What had happened?
Where was Bisi?'Ma'am are you okay?' another voice asked. Iyoma stared at the stranger in confusion.
Was she okay? Where was she exactly, was she still at the Kohinoor?
'Ma'am?' the man was looking at her curiously probably wondering if she was dumb, deaf or going nuts.
'I'm fine. Where am I, what happened?' Iyoma asked and sat upright on the sofa.
She could see now what she was in her office, the last thing she remembered was Bisi walking out on her with that girl and.....
'You're at the Kohinoor ma'am. You passed out in the restaurant, I was asked to bring you into this office and wait with you till you regained consciousness' The man informed.
Iyoma closed her eyes for a few seconds and opened them again. 'What's the time?' she asked him.
'It's ten o'clock now ma'am' He replied. Iyoma nodded 'I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll be on my way now' Iyoma said and stood up immediately.
'Actually ma'am I already informed your boyfriend about the situation. He called minutes ago and I told him, he said he's on his way' The man informed her.
Iyoma shook her head slowly, her boyfriend? Had Bisi called after she'd fainted, maybe he was having second thoughts about their break up. She knew he couldn't let her go easily, he loved her in his own way.
She smiled at the man 'Thanks, I'll be out of your hair soon' She said. The man nodded curtly and moved to sit on the chair behind the desk.
She took out her phone from her clutch and checked her call log, her smile dropped. It wasn't Bisi, it was Angel.
She frowned and dialed his number. He answered after the second ring 'Is she awake now?' he asked immediately.
'I'm awake' She responded. 'Good, I'm almost at the Kohinoor. We'll talk when I get there' He said and ended the call immediately.
Iyoma frowned and shrugged, maybe he just didn't like coming all the way here to get her. She could bet that Ehi had asked him to come and get her.
Iyoma laid back on the couch and closed her eyes. So it was really over between her and Bisi. She had to fight for him somehow, she couldn't just give up and let the slut have him. She was going to fight for Bisi, eventually. It was obvious he was still upset, she'd give him space before going back for him.
Angel texted Iyoma to meet him outside the Kohinoor when he was already five minutes close to the Kohinoor. When he got to the Kohinoor, she was already waiting for him outside, shivering in the cold.
She sighted his car and began to walk towards it, Angel parked and got out of the car but he didn't move towards her. He waited till she was standing right in front of him before he moved a limb.
Initially he'd been mad but seeing Iyoma standing out in the cold and shivering, his anger melted. 'Poor thing' he muttered and pulled her into a hug.
That did it for Iyoma because the tiny thread keeping her emotions from raging split, the waterworks came on as she buried her head in Angel's chest and sobbed.
Angel rubbed her back soothingly but he didn't say anything and some how that was comforting because she didn't want a lecture yet, she just wanted to inhale his familiar masculine scent and enjoy his warm hug.
