Reminiscing and ArgumentsIYOMA
One....
Seven....
Eleven...
Thirty nine....
Fifty five....
Seventy two....
That was the number of times Iyoma had dialed Bisi's number within space of the previous night and the following morning.
His phone had been switched off after the first five but she didn't stop dialing his line and sending multiple texts that he'd get the minute he turned on his phone.
Iyoma bit her nails nervously, she'd really messed up last night. If only she hadn't followed him to the bar last night or even confronted him and made a fool out of herself in front of a lot of strange people.
I love you....she texted again and dialed his number again but it was not reachable.
I'm sorry baby, please forgive me....she sent seconds after the former.
I'll never ever screw up like that again.....she continued.
I love you Bisi please call me when you get my texts....
Bisi are you breaking up with me?
Bisi please I'm sorry, don't end our relationship because of a little mistake....
Olabisi my heart, my jewel, my crown, love of my life, my everything, my heartbeat, my king, my lover, please forgive me. It'll never happen again I promise.....
Bisi I've been trying to reach you but I'm unable to. Please call me when you get my messages....
Bisi baby don't be annoyed, I love you. Please can I come over? Call me when you read this message.....
She tried sending another message but she was already out of airtime, she sighed and set down the phone for the first time since she'd woken up in the early hours of the day.
Her tummy rumbled from hunger and she rubbed it soothingly. She hadn't been able to eat all morning because of Olabisi.
She couldn't even stomach food right now, not when she was on the verge of losing her man. She wiped her tears stained face and got out of her bed.
She had to clean up the house and cook before Ehi got back from work. Ehi was already so angry at her and had refused to talk with her in the morning. She was hoping that preparing Ehi's favorite would do wonders and get Ehi to forgive her.
What was Ehi's problem anyway? She'd refused to understand Bisi's importance in her life. She'd met Bisi some months after she'd moved to Lagos from Lokoja five years ago.
It was love at first sight, well for her.....she couldn't say the same for Bisi.
Olabisi had walked into the Cafe looking like a GQ model who just stepped out of the front page of a magazine. Iyoma had gaped at him shamelessly as he mingled with the friends he'd come with.
Never in her life had she felt so strongly towards a man, with Olabisi every emotion was stronger and deeper. She hadn't intended to stay in the Cafe for long but she'd stayed for some hours watching Bisi and his friends.
The Gods of luck were in her favour that day because by some stroke of luck, Bisi had looked in her direction and had actually stared at her. Now Iyoma herself knew she was a beauty. Dark, stunning, curvy in the right areas, perfect button nose, plump lips and full afro hair. A real African beauty if you get the picture. Surely Bisi must have seen prettier and sexier girls prior to that day, but the way he'd stared at her made her somewhat uneasy.
He'd gotten her panties in a twist with a single smirk, she'd smiled back albeit shyly before looking away immediately.
Seconds later, Bisi had walked to her table and sat down. A striking conversation had ensued between duo, one thing led to another and they had ended up at his apartment. She'd fallen head over heels in love with Olabisi. Four years and some months later, she was still in love with him.
Ehi on the other hand wouldn't cease badmouthing the love of her life, Iyoma knew Ehi was just bitter over her fiancé's betrayal years ago.
'I seriously need to hook that girl with a man because she's getting way too sour these days' Iyoma hissed as she exited the room.

'I made dinner, your favorite' Iyoma said sitting down beside Ehi who had just arrived from work.
Ehi rolled her eyes and concentrated on rubbing her sore foot. Damn! she should have just worn some sneakers to work today, it was saturday after all. Damn those heels and they were her favorite but they weren't her size anymore.
'Ehi I said I made your favorite' Iyoma repeated and fixed her a pointed look.
'I'm not hungry, I ate earlier at work' Ehi responded sounding really irritated now.
'That's not fair now Ehi, so you won't eat my pounded yam and ogbono soup today because you're pissed for some reason. I really put in my energy to prepare...' Iyoma was complaining when Ehi stood up abruptly and faced her.
Ehi was taller than Iyoma and her height was often intimidating when they were arguing.
'Pissed for some reason? You know you really have guts Iyoma. I pull a lot of weight around here and you do nothing but moon over a man who doesn't even know your worth. Last night I foolishly went with you to stalk your good for nothing.....' Ehi was raving when Iyoma interrupted her.
'Ehehn! Ehi you can insult me how you please but leave my boyfriend out of this. Don't bring him into this, I won't take it. If you don't want to eat, then say so. It's not your own fault that I took out my time to cook for you and you...' Iyoma was screaming now but Ehi refused to listen.
'Take out your time? Iyoma take that time to go find a job. For four years now, I've been pulling your weight in this house. Rent, I pay. Bills, I pay. Everything else, I pay for it. Iyoma what do you even do in this house asides complaining Bisi this, Bisi that? You think I want your food? I want to enjoy my salary Iyoma, I want you to pull your own weight around here. Iyoma find a job, I understand you helped me when I moved here but that was years ago. Iyoma find a job and leave Bisi alone, why do I have to do all the work? Na peace of mind I come find for Lagos no be Jackie I come do' Ehi challenged and walked out of the sitting room.
Iyoma remained silent and sat down on the sofa, apparently it would take more than a plate of pounded yam and Ogbono to appease Ehi this time.
'This girl sef, her head too dey hot' Iyoma shook her head before getting up to go find her best friend.
She hated when her best friend was mad at her, the tension in the house would be unbearable.
