Chapter 2-The Love Potion

Harry was laying on his bed in his dormitory. This year McGonagall made all of the returning 8th years share dorms and a common room. Each room had two people in it from two different houses. All Harry knew was that his dorm mate was in Slytherin because the other bed in the room was covered in green silk sheets. His roommate had not come into the room last night he was not the slightest bit worried though, for reasons he mostly did not understand

Draco had spent the entire night crying in the room of requirement (RoR). He couldn’t believe that he had pushed the only constant in his life away from him. He tried to keep himself from crying anymore but the tears would not stop flowing. The room that the young blonde had entered the previous night after he saw Harry kiss someone else at dinner. He felt betrayed and hurt but he didn’t know why because he told Harry that no one would ever love him when he loves Harry more than anything in the world. He was jealous of Dean and hated Harry at the same time. 

Harry walked out into the 8th year common room and sat by one of the fireplaces. He felt warm until he felt a hand on his shoulder as someone snuggled up to him. He looked down to see his redheaded girlfriend snuggling his shoulder. Then he realized he kissed two other guys yesterday behind her back. Harry scooted away from her and said, 

“Hey Gin, we gotta talk”

“What’s going on baby?” Ginny asked.

Harry stood up “I - I kissed someone yesterday”

“WHAT!” Ginny screeched.

“Gin, I’m so sorry, you deserve better.” Harry said through tears.

“Who is she?” Ginny asked, hurt.

“Uhm I-” Harry started

“WHO IS SHE HARRY?” Ginny said, raising her voice.

“Dean Thomas” Harry said just above a whisper.

“DEAN!” she yelled, “A boy! I can’t believe I dated a gay boy!” Ginny said with a disgusted look on her face, she turned to run out of the common room before Harry grabbed her arm.

“Gin, wait please hear me out” He pleaded

“No, your nothing but a sinner!” She said as she stomped out of the common room leaving Harry with a single tear in his eye. Not 10 minutes later Ron and Hermionie walked out from their dorms to join Harry in front of the fire. The night before Ron and Hermione had missed the train so they apparated outside of the Hogwarts grounds just before the train arrived. Harry looked at his feet as his friends sat on either side of the crying boy. They saw tears dripping to the floor, the redhead and brunette shot each other worried glances.

“Harry are you alright” Hermione spoke quietly.

Harry started to speak in a hushed tone “I-I kissed someone that wasn’t Ginny, a-and I told her it was a boy and she told me I was nothing but a sinner for being gay” Harry finished quickly before breaking down into Ron’s arms.

“Harry I’m so sorry, but I’m not like her, you are my best friends no matter what” Ron said reassuringly. Harry wiggled out of Ron’s embrace and just looked up at his friend’s warming faces. He looked specifically at Hermione as she gave a small nod to indicate that she was on Harry’s side as well.

“Thank you guys so much” Harry said and tugged the rest of the golden trio into a tight embrace.

Ron and Hermione had left to go to breakfast and Harry was about to go until a familiar face walked down from the boy’s dorms. Harry walked up to him and asked, “Dean Thomas would you like to go on a date with me?”
