Chapter 2: A Leader's Death

Blackfoot, Russetfur, Frogtail, Ashheart and Birdfeather patroled the ThunderClan border.

When they assumed everything was good they headed home.

Suddenly Tallpaw burstes through the bushes.

"WindClan…attacking…" she panted.

"Go back to camp Tallpaw" Blackfoot said then hissed to the patrol, "Let's Go!"

They raced to the WindClan border and sure enough, Cats were fighting.

Blackfoot lanched himself at a she-cat who had Poppycloud pinned.

He smashed into her, knocking the air out of her.

She scrambled away and ran back to WindClan territory.

Soon all WindClan cat ran away.

Blackfoot ran to Russetfur, she had a few little cuts.

"You okay?" He asked worried.

"I'm fine" she purred.

Suddenly Brokentail's let out a yowl.

Blackfoot ran towards him praying his friend was alright, but what he saw… insted was  Raggedstar's body.

Yellowfang was with them, "He's dead" she said.

"What?…"Blackfoot whispered.

Brokentail turned around and his gaze soften when he saw him.

"He's dead" he said. Other cats stared in shock of their dead leader.

They gathered around and Brokentail snarled, "Stay away from my father, I will carry him, No one else!"

Boulder and Scorchwind heaved Raggedstar's body onto Brokentail's back.

Blackfoot stared at Raggedstar's body in the center of the camp.

Russetfur buried her face into his Blackfoot's fur.

"Raggedstar was leader for such a short time" Archeye mewed.

"He should have cared for his Clan for many seasons yet."

"How terrible to lose nine lives at once" Hollyflower murmured.

Blackfoot listened to his parents talk.

Brokentail was crouching beside his father's head with one paw resting on Raggedstar's cold fur.

"Those WindClan maggots must have been determined to send him to StarClan" he rasped.

Blackfoot hated to see him this way, he went over to comfort him.

But Yellowfang padded to his shoulder, "You must go to Moonstone to receive your lives, you are leader of ShadowClan now."

He looked up at her with fury, "I will not leave my father's body in the cold, we will go tomorrow" he hissed.

She bowed her head, "Of course StarClan will understand."

Blackfoot went over to him, "I'm sorry Brokentail, I should of been there to help him" he bowed his head.

"It's not your fault" he whispered.

Blackfoot stayed with him and Clawface joined comforting him.

As dawn crept the elders buried Raggedstar.

Yellowfang and Brokentail went to the Moonstone.

Russetfur sat beside him and he looked at the stars.

May StarClan light your path, Raggedstar.

Boom! Chapter 2.

Raggedstar has died, and Brokentail is about to become leader, I wonder how that will turn out!
