Anne was still quite shocked about her encounter with Gilbert, he wasn't sure how she felt.
She missed him, that's for sure and certain, but was there still something there? Of course not! She was mean and awful to Gilbert, he had every right to be hurt, plus she had Dilan and she was pretty happy with him.
Gilbert in the other hand was glad to have seen her, but he wasn't sure what he felt, he didn't wanted to get pushed away, but he still missed Anne and she was - is - he doesn't know, but someday he will.

The next day, Anne had a date with Dilan to go to the mall.
They were walking around, looking at the shops, when they reached the book store, and Anne of course wanted to go in, and so they did.
One book cached Anne's eyes, "Oh I think I want these one!", exclaimed Anne.
Dilan laughed, "Ill go and ask how much is it", he assured her.
"Thank you honey", said Anne with a beaming smile.
Anne was looking around a bit more, when she found an other book that caught her eye, as she reached for it, she saw through the book shelf, in the other side, a familiar face.
"Gilbert?"
"Anne..."
"So..."
"I am sorry I walked out like that yesterday", said Gilbert.
"Oh no Gilbert, I am the one that should say sorry, I didn't meant to hurt you, I-
"I got it!", said Dilan happily.
"Dilan your back...", said Anne a little nervous.
"Dilan?", said Gilbert confused.
"Yes, Gilbert, this is Dilan, my... Dilan", was all she could say.
"And Dilan, this is Gilbert, an old friend of mine"
"Nice to meet you Gilbert", said Dilan happily.
"Nice to meet you too", said Gilbert with a clenched yaw.
"Would you like to join us at dinner? We were just about to head there", asked Dilan.
"I uh, can't, I have some stuff to get to... but thank you", and with that he left sadly.
