Eliza's POV
We all got handed our luggage and began the walk up the small hill to our school. Every time I saw it, it reminded me of Hogwarts. Oh how I wish magic was real because I'd use it to fix everything!! Instead of us talking, we all just plugged in our headphones and walked in a row to the entrance. Because there were some fast walkers at Roedean and we were in that group it only took us between 5 and 10minutes. We had to wait for the rest of year 10 and 11 to catch up before we could enter the school. We were finally allowed in only to see the younger pupils had already arrived (year 7,8&9 come on one train, 10&11 on one and sixth form in another). We had around an hour to unpack and chill before we had the 'Welcome Pupils" assembly.
Us four always had the same room because once you're assigned a room that's it until sixth form when you're reassigned to two person rooms. We rushed into the bedroom and we always kept the same beds so ran over to them and collapsed. Luckily the rooms were huge so we each had a bed which was the same size as a single bed and a half. We just lied there for about 10minutes still with our headphones in when a I decided to get up and shove everyone to make sure we unpacked in time. We each had a personal bedside table, desk and chest of draws but there were only two wardrobes. I shared one with Sadie seeing as it was closest to our beds. I started putting my folded clothes in the different draws depending on what type of clothing it was. I then moved onto hanging up the rest of my clothes which were slightly creased but our corridor had a joint 'Duties Room' where we washed and ironed our clothes seeing as we were old enough. I also then took my laptop case in my beside table cabinet thing and then put my charger with it and locked it (not because of the girls). I put the key on my set with my room key, locker key(yes we had lockers even though it was a boarding school) and my latch at home. I took my handbag and put my makeup on the second shelf of the desk where a computer keyboard usually goes. I then put my wash stuff in our bathroom (yes, our bedroom was en suite!!) and walked back into the bedroom. I put my straighteners, curlers, brushes, bobbles and hair stuff on top of my chest of draws. It took us about half an hour but we all finished unpacking. We slotted our now empty bags under our beds and the sat on our own beds. Even though it was a large room the beds weren't too far apart so we could each talk in a normal voice and be able to hear everyone. We all talked then five minutes before we had to leave we all made sure looked okay (we had a full size mirror on the wall next to the door) and then left.
By the time we arrived at the main hall and everyone had taken their seats, it was just before 2:00pm. We all chatted some more because the assembly didn't actually start until 2:10pm.
"So, do you guys know what's going on?" I asked.
They all shot me puzzled looks and then Sadie's face lit up, "you mean the weird bit on the letters we got during summer to confirm we were still coming back this year?"
"No but let's talk about that first!!" I said very curious now.
"Well, I was reading the letter because I knew my parents would have read Brooke's already!" She said. "As I was reading it, something caught my eye.....there was two extra sentences in the letter which weren't normally there. They said 'We hope you understand the changes we are undergoing this year and do not wish to pull out any of your children. These adjustments will offer our girls great opportunities and we believe they will really help them excel' " she said, concentrating on quoting the letter exactly.
"Woah!!" We all said in unison.
"Yeah!" Sadie breathed.
"What kind of changes? What do they mean?" Kaylie asked.
"It's no good asking me!" Sadie said. "I tried asking my parents but they said they never received the first letter as when we went on holiday, we had our post stopped and not all our letters ended up being delivered. We ended up loosing some of our bills as well so I know they were telling the truth!" She explained.
"That's not what I meant though although our points could be related!" I said.
"Why, what do you mean?" Asked Piper.
"Well, the hall is split in half!" I said and they all looked over their shoulders and saw that the hall had about a 3meter vertical walkway running all the way down the hall.
"Oh, I didn't even notice that!" Said Kaylie.
"I think they are connected, I mean they must be and I'm getting a weird feeling!" Said Piper.
"Me too!" Sadie agreed.
The organ started playing signalling assembly was about to start.
"Guess we won't have to wait too long to find out!" I whispered and then faced the front silently.I blocked out the organ and murmurs around me and all I could think was 'Changes? What kind of changes?'
