Piper's POV

The organ started and a loud voice yelled "Please stand!" throughout the hall and we all stood up. The headmistress walked to the stage, climbed up the four steps and went to the podium in the middle of the stage. The head adjusted the microphone then softly said, "Welcome back and please be seated." The whole school sat in unison and the headmisstree smiled for a moment then carried on with her traditional speech.
"Welcome back ladies I trust you all a had a splendid holiday but are glad to be back nonetheless. Welcome to the year sevens joining us from the lower school across the campus we are glad you decided to stay with us and not move to different senior schools. Also welcome to any new sixth formers who may have joined now and not attended here in previous years. Good luck to year elevens taking GCSEs this year, year thirteens taking ALevels this year and year nine/tens who are making and taking their GCSE choices. I know you will all do well as you are all capable of great things but good luck anyway! Even if you aren't taking any important exams this year or making big decisions, I wish good luck and hope you try your hardest at every obstacle which may appear in your path. Now for the announcement which I'm sure many of you have been anticipating..........." At this moment my ears pricked up and I slowly sat up further in my chair as did the other three. "Before I tell the good news I would like you to know that even though these changes may be shocking, un-nerving or confusing just know the whole staff committee, myself included, believe this will be a great opportunity for the school. Whether these changes will become permanent or not is not yet known as this year is the shall we say 'practice run'. If this year is successful and does not have a negative affect on any of the students then we will continue the new program but be warned, if things do not work and you girls change for the worse, then the program will be discontinued immediately and not considered again!" She warned. The girls and I all exchanged galnces as we knew this was the moment of truth..........
"Now ladies,"
.................................
"Please welcome Hambridge Academy for Gentlemen!!" She said and young boys flooded in through the back doors and (in rows of four) walked down the aisle between our seats. I could tell they were in year order so I stared intently.
"There will not be any boys joining the lower school, only our senior school!" The headmistress said and I got to work trying to see when the year tens appeared.
Year sevens...................
Year eights...................
Year nines...................
Year tens!!!!!!!!!

I studied them and I could see the others were aswell. There were so many fit ones that it was hard to pick a favourite! I could see the others looking as if they had found true love and I snapped them out of it and we all turned to look at the front. They boys walked down the middle and then walked behind the stage (there was a divided between the stage and corridor behind it but it didn't go to the ceiling and classroom were behind the stage) so the fit boys soon disappeared.
"I hope you will not get too distracted by our new arrivals!" Said the headmisstree which sent a chorus of giggles throughout the hall. "We undertpstand that these changes will be hard to adjust to at first but we hope you will get used to it quickly for your own sake! As well as new students, we also have some new stagpff member as you could probably have guessed. Mr Hickman will be a new set one Math teacher. Mr Hambleton will be a new RE teacher. Dr Smith, a new history and RE teacher. Mrs Wakefield as the new deputy. Mr Wakefield as a new English teacher. And Miss Crawley as a new Spanish and French teacher," the new teachers were welcomed on stage and we all clapped.
"The boys will have separate dormitories to the girls in another part of the school but classes will be mixed. I would like some students from each gender and year to meet up tomorrow as a little 'get to know me welcome session'. Groups will be posted in the duties room of each corridor and will be done by rooms. So room 7A and 7B of each gender will come together so eight pupils from each building will be together and so on. Year sevens please stay behind after the assembled and just a warning that the matron will be round each room soon so make sure everything is in order. Please stand." We all stood, the organ was played again and the headmistress walked eout of the hall and into her conjoined office.

Me and the others went back to our dorm and began discussing the lads. It went well and e all had a laugh and then the matron knocked on the door and we all composed ourselves. She explained the rules but I didn't really listened as I never really followed them anyway. I only listened to the last bit as I heard boys,
"And lastly, also obviously........fraternising with the boys is simply forbidden!!" The matron said and then left.
She had to say forbidden, I mean they were hot before, but now.........how can I resist?
