You successfully brighten Enid's mood by awkwardly introducing yourself.

{Gender-Neutral}
You wipe your hands on your trousers after helping a few people with reinforcing Alexandria's gate, carelessly attempting to remove any muck. You then bring your hand to your forehead and wipe away any sweat. Once you bring it back down, you notice the new girl, whose name you don't know, sitting on the curb with her head in her hands.
You feel an odd pull towards her, so you smooth out your shirt and decide to see if she may need any help. As you walk over, your nerves get the best of you. About halfway there, you begin to slow down and think, I don't even know her. She'll probably think I'm weird. I should leave.
The teen, seeming to sense your presence, looks up and makes eye contact with you. Your internal thoughts immediately cease as you awkwardly raise your hand up to wave at her. She scrunches her eyebrows before returning her gaze to the ground. You choose to close to the distance between the two of you. Once you reach her, you cautiously sit down beside her and stretch out your legs.
She seems to tense, and you think that she's about to bolt. Instead, she turns to look at you with confusion swimming through her eyes. "I'm Y/N", you say as you nod your head with a kind smile on your face. She nods her head, acknowledging the new information, but doesn't respond. You try to think of something to say, so you decide to tell her more about yourself, in hopes of distracting her from whatever made her upset. "Well, uh, I'm 15- maybe 16? I'm not too good at keeping track. My favorite color is ____, my favorite number is ___. Um, my favorite time of day is-" You abruptly end your sentence once you see the peculiar girl looking at you with curiosity.
You smile again, albeit ungracefully. "Why are you talking to me?", she wonders aloud. "You seemed like you needed some cheering up?" Your answer sounds more like a question, since you don't really know why you're talking to her either. You being just as confused as her seems to calm her down somewhat as her hands release themselves from their once anxious grip. "You don't have to tell me about whatever's making you sad, but I'd like to...maybe, become your friend?"
She sniffles and smiles, turning her head to look back down at the pavement. You take that as a small victory. "I'd like that." She looks up and calmly extends her hand towards you.
"I'm Enid."
