Chapter 7 - Downtown Vibes

Y/N POV

At school I finally relieved and now with that Live done and dusted I could now focus on getting familiar with the area I'm living in. The downtown area is very popular due to the various shops their such as: Yamabuki Bakery, Hazawa Coffee, Kitazawa Meat Shop.

Suddenly Lisa called my name because it was time for PE class. While walking with my class I stop by the shoe lockers to grab my Basketball Shoes and were gonna play basketball for the next week.

After changing quickly in the locker room I started pacing my shoes with the rest of the class coming out of the lockers getting ready, the teacher brought out a rack of balls to practice while she handles something in the faculty office. After dribbling for a while getting into a motion the class started watching me so I decided to show off a little.

After hitting some threes, fancy Lay ups, and complex dribble moves Lisa approached me and ask if I can dunk.

"Uhh I can try I'm not that tall" I said to Lisa with a unsure tone.

After playing around and trying to dunk until PE was over, good thing it was my last class of the day. I decided to walk towards downtown to get a lay of the land if that makes sense, arriving there I saw usual cozy vibe that the place gave and seeing the local business striving was a good sight.

Marina told me that the Downtown Area is must spot in the city, also she told me that there was a really good barber shop which gives great hair cuts, and hair treatments, approaching the intersection,
I smelled the scent of freshly baked bread so I walked toward Yamabuki Bakery so get some Curry Buns or maybe Chocolate Cornets if they have any still, entering I was greeted by a woman with brown hair and royal blue eyes, must be Saaya's mother.

I grabbed a tray and tongs and grab 2 Curry buns and 2 Chocolate Cornets and brought them the cash register.

"Is that everything young man?" She asked.

"Yes that's all" I said handing over the money, and I was about to leave, Saaya walked in and saw me.

"Oh Y/N is good to see you" Saaya said with a faint blush on her cheeks.

"Yeah I was in the area and just had to buy bread here, probably the best I've had" I said with a smile.

"Hmm you know him Saaya?" Her mother asked.

"Yeah he's a new friend I've made, he works at the live Poppin'Party practices at" Saaya told her mother.

"My name is Y/N L/N, your daughter is a good friend to have, shes has been really nice to me" I said bowing my head.

"Saaya you should invite him to dinner sometime" her mother said to Saaya.

"You'll always be welcome here Y/N-san" her mother said to me.

"Uh thank you, I'll see you around Saaya" I said exiting the Bakery.

"He's a keeper Saaya, you should ask him on a date" her mother whisper to her.

"Maybe I should but I'm afraid he'll say no" Saaya thought to herself.

After Yamabuki Bakery, I decided to head the Kitazawa Meat shop to pick up some sliced beef,

"Hi Y/N what can I get you!" Hagumi said with
big smile on her face.

"Hmmm I have half pound of sliced beef, and two croquettes: beef and potato" I responded.

After Hagumi packaged the gyudon and croquettes, is handed her the money and said my thanks.

"Come again Y/N your a valued customer!" Hagumi said waving goodbye.

Being downtown see Yamabuki Bakery busy with lineups of students, Kitazawa Meat shop with their delicious croquettes, and Hazawa Coffee with their amazing Cakes and Coffee. Speaking of Coffee I saw a sandwich board outside Hazawa with a promotion for their new Vanilla Cold Brew coffee, so I decided to get give it a try besides I love cold brew coffee.

After entering I noticed that the cafe was empty except for Afterglow sitting at a table enjoying each other's company, Tsugumi greeted me at door grabbing the attention of the other members of Afterglow.

"Hey Y/N this is Afterglow territory!" Mocha said in an aggressor and sleepy expression.

"I'm not here to start a turf war i'm here for caffeine" I said trying not to laugh at her "declaration".

"Come sit with us Y/N ignore her" Ran said with a small simile, gesturing to the sit beside her.

Ran's word surprised her band mates especially Himari who hasn't seen Ran act very differently, like smiling or blush when she sees a particular boy.

After I ordered my coffee and cake I talked with Afterglow for while, learning about their interests and dislikes. Moca asked if I believed in ghosts to which I responded with "kinda" so she decided to explore Haneoka at night again to search for the Hanekoa Seven Wonders that inspired their song: Hey Day Capriccio. Since my aunt runs the school I will for sure be able to explore the school at night with no problems. Ran was against the idea seeing as they were going through that school at night for a second time, Moca and Tomoe both said to Ran that it would be ok because this time since I will tagging which I agreed for reason, Ran reluctantly agreed amd Himari looking defeated agreed to go as well.

We all decided that two weeks from now we'll search for the Seven Wonders, with all departing Hazawa I asked Ran if I can walk her home which happily agreed, after arriving at her home, it gave me memories of me and my mother visiting all the time, and see my mom's name on a framed board.

"Thank you for walking me home Y/N" Ran said with faint blush on her cheeks.

"Don't mention it, I'm just being a gentlemen"
I said scratching the back of my neck.

Ran stood there shaking a little bit while looking at ground wanting to say something. 

"Hey Y/N.........will you go on a date this Saturday!" Ran said slightly shouting.

"H-huh w-what?!" I said in pure shock.

Hey guys sorry I haven't uploaded in a while I'm kinda busy with my part-time job so I've been on and off recently. But I plan on to continue to do my best with releasing chapter  on regular basis.

The next chapter will be a date with the Scarlet Vocalist of Afterglow: Ran Mitake
