Adelaide and the couple walked around the halls ignoring the glances of some occasional students, some who were still surprised on how the two new girls were able to break down the walls the Cullens had built.

"How come Jacob Black gets to give you a gift and I don't?" Edward asked Bella as the three walked through the hallways.

Edward knew the girls had a strong relationship with Jacob and in truth he didn't mind that relationship it only became an issue when Jacob's thoughts were so loud that he himself couldn't hear anything but his.

"Because I have nothing to give back to you." Bella sighed while Adelaide stayed back letting the couple have their space.

Every single second Adelaide had held back from trying to talk about every flashback she had been getting but it seemed each time she tried new ones came in, tossing off any memories she thought she had formed.

She was lost in her own mind as she could piece together what she had been remembering for the past couple of weeks.

"You cannot do it, there is no chance you can." A deep voice had spoken to her as she looked up only seeing a blurred face.

"Well I can try, can I not?" Adelaide asked the man in front of her being hurt by his words but those words felt too common said by him.

She hated how she seemed so used by that.

"Not by a chance, Adelaide, you are nowhere near that strong to get involved in this matter." The deep voice scoffed almost as if he was mocking her while Adelaide thought back to the disappointed expression she held. "I am only speaking the truth, I do not wish anything to happen to you."

Adelaide could feel him holding her hand looking into her eyes yet she still couldn't see him no matter how hard she tried but she could feel the emptiness the eyes held for her.

"I understand. . . and you may be correct, I should not try to make matters worse." Adelaide spoke as she thought he, whoever he may be, was right even though it crushed her.

"I am just looking out." The deep voice convinced her as Adelaide nodded but in his tone she was able to hear an almost proud tone from him.

"Do not threat I understand you are keeping me safe." Adelaide sighed with a small smile looking over to him with mixed emotion as she tried to convince herself that he was doing it for her well being.

"Good." The figure nodded with a hidden smirk before walking off leaving Adelaide to stand in the room on her own.

Hearing the door close Adelaide lifted her gown a bit as she walked over to her terrace that overlooked the whole land but she could not find herself to find peace so with a defeated sigh she walked back into her room.
