At Celestial Academy, the school for idols, young girls pursued dreams of becoming top stars, and aimed to become the brightest star of all: the Celestial Star! Each student was working tirelessly towards their goals, knowing they were in an industry that wouldn't wait for anyone.
"-after dethroning Harune Naru, Aino Rina becomes the Celestial Star, adopting the self-created brand Crystal Ribbon," Kotone explained. Mai and Hinata had missed a lesson earlier, due to an audition, so they had asked Kotone to pass on her notes. She didn't have any, but instead repeated the information, as they quickly scribbled down their own notes.
"Aaaand done!" Mai exclaimed, putting her pen down. "Thank you, Kotone-chan!"
"It's no problem," Kotone said.
"Thanks," Hinata said, furrowing her brows, "Did you already know this all?" Considering how much information there was, it was surprising that she hadn't taken any notes at all. Even the great 'Hina-sama' only knew the more recent and notable title holders.
"No. I just listened."
"And remembered it all?!"
"Do you not?" Kotone asked, and the two rapidly shook their heads. She narrowed her eyes. "Note to self, humans do not typically remember everything they are told."
"You remember everything?" Mai asked , and Kotone nodded.
"As in... everything everything?"
Another nod.
"As in I could tell you someone looked at me funny and you'd still remember fifty years later?"
"That is correct."
Hinata's jaw fell. "That is... incredible. Imagine how easy exams would be if I could remember everything like that."
"Right, right!" Mai agreed, "I know some people remember certain things better than others but... I didn't it was possible to that extent." Her eyes sparkled, "You're amazing, Kotone-chan!"
Her phone pinged with a notification, and Mai picked it up. "Oh, my application went through! The audition is next Tuesday."
Hinata high-fived Mai. Then the former cocked her head. "Thinking about it... I don't think I've ever seen Nanami-san enter an audition."
"You haven't?" Mai asked, then pursed her lips. "Now that you mention it."
"I haven't taken any," Kotone stated.
"You're so good at lessons, you should try taking one," Mai said, "We should do this one together!
"...We should?" Kotone asked, her voice having a very slight trace of confusion. Mai nodded.
"If you need any help or motivation, I can help since we'll be in the same boat."
"I do not comprehend. Will the audition take place on a boat?"
Hinata sighed, resting her chin between her hands. "She didn't mean it literally."
"What I meant is we can rely on each other more if we're both taking the same audition. I help you; you help me."
"That would create more competition, decreasing your chance of success by approximately 12.56%."
Placing a lip to her finger, Mai furrowed her brows. "Maybe, but it increases your chances of success by approximately 100%."
Kotone took a second to respond. "Humans are strange."
Mai smiled. "Don't you want to give it a try?"
