Sammy
4b. World History, and of course I have it with Maple, the mysterious, cute, new kid. He casts his eyes at me, then instantly diverts them.
Did I do something wrong? Was it me saying that I am bi? Oh shit. Did that make him uncomfortable?
I look down at my desk, sad that I had already ruined my chances at friending Maple. I wish I could take it back. But why would I? I just got Lila to stop flirting with him, so that's a good thing for him, but it also means she'll just be bitchy with him. I sigh, tears forming in my eyes. It's been so long since I've gotten another friend. I just wish I could start over with Maple. Wash the slate clean of all my mistakes.
Everyone, This is Maple Rose. He just moved here and I want everyone to be kind to him." Mrs. Griffon stated, her green eyes gleaming in the pale light of the room.
"Why are your eyes so weird?" A girl with a really nasally voice shouted from the back.
A lot of kids nodding, some saying they would also like to know. Maple, on the other hand, turned a deep red. Mrs. Griffon glared at Stacy, the girl who asked the question.
"I-I well, um... t-that's difficult to explain..." Maple stuttered, his eyes glues to the ground as his face got even redder, if that is possible.
"Tha-" Mrs. Griffon started before Melissa, one of Lila's best friends, interrupted her.
"Why do you sound like a girl?" She shouted, making some students nod and giggle.
Maple looked like he was going to die. Or faint. It was hard to tell. I mean, his voice was slightly higher in pitch than most guys I know, but it could be some condition. That's also when the questions kept going.
"Yeah! Also, why are you so curvy? You look like a girl!" shouted one boy.
"Why do you stutter?" shouted another.
"Are you actually a girl?"
That's when I had enough. I stood up, causing everyone, including Maple and Mrs. Griffon to stare at me.
"What is WRONG with you people?" I shout, making everyone in the room to go silent. "Can't you tell that you're making Maple uncomfortable? The poor boy looks like he's close to fainting! Just leave him alone!" I shout before sitting down, casting glares at all the other students.
Mrs. Griffon nodded, sighing in relief. "Thank You Sammy. Maple, you can go sit next to Sammy. He'll help you out."
Maple nods, casting an odd look in my direction.
Did I do something wrong?
Maple sat down next to me, messing with his fingers as he stares at the table. "Th-thank you f-for standing up f-for me..." He stutters, obviously anxious.
I smile, though I doubt he can see it. "Don't sweat it man. I was doing what any decent person should have done."
He chuckles, a small smile forming upon his lips. "Yeah. But thank you anyway."
He didn't stutter. Did that mean something?
I hope it does. I smile again, even wider this time. "You're welcome."
That is when Mrs. Griffon announced what was going on this year. I just sneaked glances at Maple, loving how his hair fell down, framing his face in an almost mystical way. It was as if he was a prince from movies. He was doodling on a spare piece of paper, not really paying attention much. I smiled a little before looking away.
Damn. This boy is cute.
Then the bell rang, announcing it was time to go to our 4c class period. That would be lunch for me. I wonder if Maple has that lunch period.
When I turn to ask him, though, he is already out the door.
If you guys need visuals of characters, please just ask. I can do them for you!
