Chapter Eight: Memory Lost

*reaching Magnus's location*

Emily's POV
"His location is right behind that warehouse" Jace said pointing to the old abandoned warehouse, probably a glamour.

"The High Warlock of Brooklyn lives in a warehouse?" Clary questioned amusingly.

"Focus, its a glamour" Alec replied to her.

"It was too easy to find, something's wrong" Jake chimed in.

"His wards are done for, I can feel it" I replied, getting off Alec's back.

"Are you sure you can walk?" He asked eyeing my feet.

"I kick ass in heels, and thankyou Grumpy" I said to him.

"Wow, so you can't insult me and thank me at the same time you know" he replied to me.

"See that's where you're wrong. I can and I did" I smirked at him and he returned the smile.

Alec and I were brought out of our smiling contest when some circle members appeared on the roof of Magnus's lair and brutally killed a warlock. Our group rushed to the building with our weapons ready.
As soon as we entered we separated. I was slashing at the circle members with my knives, killing them instantly. I threw my knife at the last one coming my away and went to retrieve it. As I got up and turned around I saw Clary holding a little girl with her back towards a circle member coming her way. I instantly threw my knife at him and he fell down, dead. Clary turned around and gave me a thankful nod.

"Come on, let's go" I said and she came with the girl.
We entered the main room of the lair just in time to see Alec shooting an arrow right inbetween the eyes of the circle member who was just a meter away from attacking Magnus.

"Well done" I said looking proudly at Alec and he smiled at me.

"More like medium rare" Magnus popped up from behind me eyeing Alec, I don't why but that kinda made me uncomfortable too.

"Are you two...?" Magnus asked us pointing towards me and Alec.

"Oh uhhh..uhmmm" Alec started.

"No we aren't-" I started but Magnus cut me off.

"Well then, I don't think we've been formally introduced. I'm Magnus" he said walking towards Alec.
I walked away from them rolling my eyes to where everyone else was. I could hear Alec stuttering.
After a while the both came and he stood beside me.

"So you done flirting? Explains why you backed away from kissing me" I whispered loud enough for only him to hear.

"What? Nooo! I wasn't-" he started but I cut him off.

"Save it, Alec. I'm better off alone and I'm used to it anyways. Besides we have more important things to do" I say walking away. I could feel his eyes lingering on me but I didn't dare look at him, or his puppy eyes would've taken away all my anger. Anyways I went closer to Clary and Magnus to listen in on their conversation.

"I'll summon the demon but the demon will demand payment at some point" Magnus told Clary.

"What kind of payment?" Jake asked.

"We'll see, for now you must draw the pentagram, biscuit" Magnus said to Clary and she went into another room.

"Are you okay? You seem off" Izzy asked me.

"I'm fine, just tired" I answered.

After a few minutes Clary said she was done and we walked into the other room. She'd drawn a beautiful pentagram on the floor.
