Sejun's POV
I felt so energized as I opened my eyes today. There was a palpable excitement in the air, something that I cannot explain. I just feel like today is going to be a good day. My mom noticed my excess buzzing energy and she just smiled and told me, "Something good is going to happen today. I can feel it."
Yes! I am claiming it. Something good is definitely going to happen today.
I went to Makati with a spring in my step. As I arrived at ShowBT building, Justin was stepping out of his brother's car. His brother, Kuya Yani waved at me. "Hi, Paulo! Ingat!"
"Ingat, Kuya Yani!" I called and waved back. Justin made a beeline towards me and we made our way towards the studio.
"What's your lunch?" Justin asked me.
I smiled. I knew he was going to be excited about my baon. "Sinigang."
"Yey!"
"This is my lunch, not yours," I reminded him.
Justin pouted at me. "Ahhhh, Kuya Pau!" He protested.
Justin was the richest among the five of us. Growing up, his needs, and most of his wants were met. Justin was enrolled in a fancy college and his tuition fees were probably ten times more than mine, Stell, and Ken's.
But even if Justin was a rich kid, he still loved to pester me about my lunch. Justin loves my mom's cooking. Actually, the boys love my mom's cooking, especially her sinigang. It was one of our favorites. Ever since I started training, mom has been gracious to pack food enough for the five of us. She's wonderful that way.
"You're rich and yet you leech off my lunch," I teased him.
Justin just stuck his tongue at me, knowing full well that I'm sharing my lunch with him later. My parents have always taught me to share my blessings. Sinigang included.
"Kuya Pau, I can't wait for lunch so I can eat sinigang," Justin told me as we entered our dance studio.
"Well, that means you have to hit all the notes to your parts. Or else, no lunch for you, boy," I retorted.
"Just you wait," Justin replied, a determined look in his eyes. It looked like he was eyeing the prize that was my lunch.
We spent the morning practicing our vocals. Sure enough, when lunch rolled around, Justin was the first one who pulled my baon and said, "Let's eat sinigang!"
I laughed. Justin's vocals had improved tremendously so he deserved the sinigang.
The five of us were contentedly eating lunch when our manager, Ate May came in and said, "After eating, please proceed to the conference room, okay?"
The five of us looked at each other. This was not the first time that we got called to a meeting. My gaze met Josh, and my heart did a weird flip. Josh was looking at me anxiously. Looking at Josh's face, my heart began to thump fast.
"Is there something wrong?" I anxiously asked Josh.
Josh shook his head. "No," he denied. "Nothing, Pau."
How come I don't believe him?
I should be convinced that nothing was wrong because Josh says so. But I was not 100% convinced that there was nothing wrong. Something was up. I just could not put my finger to it.
But then again, Josh has never lied to me. Maybe something was going on with his family? Maybe he had a fight with his older sister?
I massaged my temples. I was beginning to have a headache.
