Part 7 The Range

(YN) POV

I Jumped awake as I remember the nightmare it wasn't as bad as yesterday but it still makes me wonder why I keep on getting them they've never been this bad. I looked over at my alarm clock and it's only 6 AM I decided to go ahead and shower, brush my teeth, and get ready for the day. I throw on a new shirt and A pair of cargo pants and I strap my pistol to my thigh. As I arrive in the mess hall I noticed that there's nobody else here.

In (YN's) head

(As I'm sitting there eating I begin to think about my nightmare and why I could be having them maybe it's because of what happened to Eliza her getting hurt maybe that's what's bringing it back up I'm not sure I need to figure it out though) I was broken out of my thoughts when I heard a voice from behind me.

Meghan "well (YN) you're up early"

(YN) "Yeah well I woke up in the earlier than expected this morning I couldn't go back to sleep"

Meghan "Do you want to talk about it"

(YN) "No it's nothing you need to worry about"

She looked at me skeptically like she knew that there was more going on but she didn't say anything.

Meghan "So what's your story why did you join up"?

(YN) " well I grew up on my family's farm just outside of Oklahoma City and I decided when I was 17 then I want to protect those that I cared about so I asked my parents permission and I joined the Army as a combat medic. From there things just took a turn one thing led to another and I joined the Rangers then from there I went to join the PJs. And then that's what let me here today".

Meghan "neat so what Kind of farm did you live on"?

(YN) "Cattle farm but we also raised horses"

Meghan "oh that so cool I love horses".

(YN) "Me too they're beautiful animals one day I hope to retire and live on a horse farm with a good woman to spend the rest my life with".

Meghan "What no luck with the ladies". She said with a slight smile.

(YN) " I guess you can say that I've had a lot of crappy relationships but I honestly thought the last one was the woman I was gonna spend my life with that was until I came home early from a deployment and found her in bed with another man".

Meghan "Oh my God I'm so sorry but you're not the only one Most of the guys I've met have just wanted to try to get in my pants".

(YN) " people can be assholes sometimes".

She nodded And we went back to eating. Shortly after Craig came by and so did Elias we were sitting there talking for a while when Mike walked up and asked if I was ready for my Range test. I nodded and I walk to the armory to pick up my weapons as I arrive to the range I quickly load up my mags with 5.56 Rounds.

Mike "OK Lad I'm gonna tell you how this goes when I say go you're to shoot the targets as quickly as you can every time you take down one another will take it's place Your goal is to see how many targets you can take down in 60 seconds".

I nodded and prepared to fire he yelled go And the target started popping up I took down each one as quickly as I could I was very thankful I had a 50 round magazine in the end I was able to shoot 49.

Mike "Bloody well done lad you came in third out of all the other operators you were only beat by Glaz and Ash. Next we will be moving onto a simulation to see how you Handle a combat situation. You will be going up against five of our defenders. don't worry if you can't take them out we want to see how you make decisions while under stress."

I nod and I follow Thatcher over to the the Simulation area as I arrive I can see five people walking in the house I would assume my opponent's.
