Part 14 Waiting

Meghan POV

Time skip 6 hours

Monica and I were walking in (YN's) room the other's went to get something to eat. I couldn't leave him just in case Monica stayed with me.

Meghan "you know you didn't have to stay you could have went with them."

Monica "I'm know but I am not going to leave you alone."

We hear the door open and gustav walks in.

Meghan "thank god you're here."

Monica how bad is it doc?"

Gustav "I'm not going to lie it's not good I've spoken with the other doctors the ones that treated him. He stopped breathing and for several minutes his brain went without oxygen. Which could lead to permanent brain damage. Also the wound on his shoulder was made significantly worse by him continued going after the injury there could be permanent muscle damage."

Meghan when will we know about the brain damage?"

Gustav " it's hard to tell we will have to wait until he wakes up...... if he wakes up. We've already notified his family they are currently on their way.

Time skip Next morning
Meghan POV

I've been by (YN's) side all night I couldn't sleep at all I'd close my eyes and see him fall all over again. I've just sat here by his side holding his hand. I feel my eyes grow heavy as I lay my head on his bed next to him.

Time skip 4 hours

I slowly wake up I can hear several voices some of which I haven't heard before. I look around and see 3 females and 2 males I haven't meet before they were talking to doc.

Gustav "ah Meghan good morning."

Meghan good morning doc. Who are these people?"

Gustav "this is (YN's) family."

Meghan o..oh nice to meet you all.

Mom "it's wonderful to finally meet you. You are Meghan right?"

Meghan "yes that's me."

Mom "you know he's told me so much about you he's right you are very pretty."

This causes my cheeks to flush red.

Meghan "he told you about me?"

Mom "sweetheart every letter I got from him since he joined rainbow was about you telling me how beautiful, courageous, and funny you are."

Meghan "really he said that?"

Mom "yes all of it. just promise me something."

Meghan "anything"

Mom "I can tell you two care about each other but I need to know that you will treat him well. At least not like the last one.

Meghan "I promise you I am nothing like the last girl he dated. I really want to find her and slap her for breaking his heart."

Mom "so he told you about her?"

Meghan "yeah he did I just don't understand how people could do that especially to him in the time I've known him I've seen just how kind and caring he can be he's saved so many lives. I could never do to him what she did I love him too much."

Mom "I can see but I just need to make sure."

I look over to (YN) still lying motionless on the bed hooked up to machines. (YN's) mom comes over and puts her hand on my shoulder.
