Part 17 Bad News

Thursday
(YN) POV

I was currently sitting in Gustav's office I was hoping that he would release me early for field duty.

Gustav "ah hello (YN) good morning what brings you by this fine day?"

(YN) "good morning doc I was hoping you could check to see if I am clear for field duty."

Gustav "I see no harm."

The next 30 minutes he ran several test and scans on me to see if I'm fit for duty."

Gustav "well everything checks out I will inform Harry that you are fit for duty."

Harry "no need Gustav I have heard everything." he says from across the room.

(YN) "sir how long have you been there?"

Harry "I just came in. I was actually looking for you Meghan said you would be here. I would like to talk to you in my office if that is alright."

(YN) "of course sir."

I followed Harry to his office and we sit down.

Harry "so how are you doing."

(YN) "I am doin good sir I'm glad I can finally go back in the field."

Harry "so soon I understand that gustav told you 3 weeks it's only been 2 1/2 weeks. Why are you so eager to go back so soon?"

(YN) "I just want to protect and defend the innocent I can't do that if I'm on medical leave."

Harry "well that is good. That is why I asked you to come down here I have something to discuss with you."

(YN) "sir?"

Harry "have you noticed anything new regarding the white masks?"

(YN) "I've noticed that they have become more bold and intelligent the concert proves that they were able to smuggle several bombs and weapons past security."

He turns in his chair as he stands and walks over to a window looking out of it.

Harry "I've just received information that they raided several military instillations in Russia meaning they now have heavy weapons helicopters, tanks, and worst off we believe that one of the bases held a Soviet era nuclear bomb."

My eyes widen as I let out a gasp.

(YN) "good god, with that kind of firepower they could kill millions. What can we do sir?"

Harry "that's why I brought you here." As he says this the door opens and mike entered.

Mike "good morning lad hope you're doing well." He looks to Harry. "I suppose that you told him."

Harry "yes I have I was about to ask him."

(YN) "ask me what sir?"

Harry" we need you to put together and lead a team of our operators to start raiding the mask outpost to find that bomb."

Many different scenarios start running through my head.

(YN) "sir with all due respect what in the hell will I be able to do with 5 operators. that bomb is at least going to be guarded by 200 men or more. And now that they have tanks it will be worse. I'll be leading them to their deaths."

Harry "I never said that you were limited to 5 operators although I recommend that you have at least 10. Also the UN has agreed to lend us support on every single mission you're team is on. Meaning you will have access to a c-130 gunship, a drone overwatch and A-10 warthog gun runs.
