ALL I WANT.
act one― as if
HER SPARKLING EYES GAZED UPON THE BEADS OF WATER THAT TRICKLED— down her skin. The one thing that she did not miss from the Capital was the showers. She had plenty of those back when she was in her home in Victor's Village, yet, there was something that soothed Ophelia about the showers in such a malevolent place. Something so painful, yet so soothing. The interviews had always managed to burn a tender core in Ophelia's soul, she hated every second sitting there with a diamond smile on her face as each question continued to tear pieces of her heart. And the worst thing about the whole damn thing was that Ophelia knew no one cared. No one ever seemed to care anyway.
"How much longer are you going to stay in there?" Enobaria yelled out as she stood outside of the quarters where Ophelia was soaking herself in the warmth of the water as she continued to bask in the relaxing powers of the shower.
The young Victor smiled and rolled her eyes as she craned her neck to gaze over at the glassy pane that was covered in steam. Somewhere out there she knew that her mentor was standing with a towel, an angry expression on her face as Enobaria wanted to talk about survival strategies for the Quarter Quell while Ophelia was here enjoying her time in the shower.
"You can't rush beauty, Enobaria," Ophelia teased as she found herself touching the diamond handles of the shower, turning off the warm water. She opened the glass door, grasping the lush towel that was left out for her, using it to dry her hair before stepping out of the shower.
"Funny, you're starting to sound like the people from the Capitol," Enobaria sneered as she eyed Ophelia who grabbed another towel, wrapping it around her head to dry her hair.
"At least let me enjoy this, darling. I doubt I'll have another shower as soon as the game starts," Ophelia pointed out as she made her way over towards her quarters, shutting the doors so that no one would enter. She tousled her dark hair with the towel on her head before chucking it on the silk covers that were on her large bed.
"Get changed quickly then! I'm here to make sure you get another shower! Don't spend too much time deciding which clothes you want to wear," Enobaria gruffed as she knocked on Ophelia's door. The echoes of her feet drifted away from her room, to which the young woman let out a small sigh.
The young woman only rolled her eyes, turning her back to her bed before jumping back and landing right on the silky bed sheets. Curling her toes, Ophelia let out a small sigh as she let herself sink into her bed, just wanting to relax. After all, it wasn't like she was going to make it out of the games alive.
Her heart sank at the very thought that these could be her final moments breathing. Even though the training was to begin, it would only be a matter of time before the games were to begin. Time was a ticking bomb waiting to explode. And this time, Ophelia knew that her chances of surviving were slim.
