Chapter 11 - Scoring | Dax

I can't believe it has been over a month since I agreed to Olivia's crazy plan. It both feels like it was yesterday and last year at the same time. We have created this strange bond that I am not so sure I want to be broken off in the future.

I have really got to know her, she is this tough, free spirited, say whatever comes to her mind person when she is around people. When she is not focusing on everyone else or there is only her and me she is more calm, think before she speaks and mellow person. I don't know what I did to deserve to get to know the Olivia behind the mask she puts on for everyone else but I feel honoured.

Even though this morning started way to early, dragging my ass to the team bus taking us four hours away for our game, it felt much better when I saw that Olivia is coming on this one.

I made sure we sat together on the bus and it was so comfortable just to sit with her and be sleepy together. I may have spent some time staring at her when she fell asleep snuggling into my side. She looked so beautiful and at peace snoring against me.

I don't know why or how but every time I get off the field I happen to end up by Olivia's side constantly. It is like we gravitate towards each other and every time I get off she gives her view on my plays and she surprises me a few times with great tips. It is really obvious she knows the game well and loves it.

The game seems to go on forever even though we are leading with at least two touchdowns at all time. It all started with the judges being late due to car problems, as lame as that sounds. Then the game had two big delays when we had to take medical timeouts to wait for the ambulance to come and pick up the guys straight from the fields. They weren't even allowed to be moved from the field until the ambulance was present.

Finally we make it to the end after a long day and we come out winning but this game has been so long that everyone is more relieved than happy when we are walking to the locker room to get ready to go home.

Unfortunately the day doesn't get better from there, once we are all loaded into the bus eager to get going we are suddenly told to leave the bus after a few attempts to start without success.

"Everyone out please!" The bus driver yells to us and we start one by one to leave the bus.

"Weird" Olivia says beside me and gives her an agreeing look as we leave the bus. It is quite cold outside and I can see her pulling at her sweater for warmth so I hug her from behind, sharing some of my body warmth and she falls into my embrace happily.

"Boys!" Coach is calling for our attention and everyone goes quiet ".. we need to check a few things on the bus but we may be a while so we are giving you forty minutes to grab some food in the meantime, starting now". Everyone starts making plans among ourselves at once and we all decide on heading over to the Subway across the street hoping for good news when we get back.

Of course no good news was delivered when we got back, some of us went to go food and some of us ate during this time.

"Unfortunately the bus is broken and the place we can buy the spare part is not open now, they have agreed to come in and let us buy it early tomorrow morning but we need to stay here over the night because we can't get ahold of a rental now" everyone voice their disappointment loudly and coach is having a hard time to quiet us.

"Don't be big babies, we managed to get rooms at this motel five minutes walk from here so grab your necessities to survive the night and then we head over".

I let out a big sigh and rest my head on Olivia's shoulder, she is in front of me again letting me hug her from behind and I burrow my face in her neck.

"There, there. I am sure you will get your beauty sleep" she says teasingly at me and I take a tiny bite of her neck to get back at her mocking me and she lets out a small scream.
